Leads a seven-member plain-clothes Crime Reduction Unit focused on proactive, intelligence-led enforcement. Responsibilities include staffing and deployment, targeted investigations, surveillance, offender management, crime-trend response, stakeholder partnerships, team coaching, performance management, reporting, and recommendations to senior leadership. The role supervises initiatives addressing property crime, drug trafficking, prolific offenders, and community safety concerns while ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practices.

Plain-clothes Constables proactively reduce street-level crime through intelligence-led policing, surveillance, targeted enforcement, offender management, and investigations involving property crime, drug trafficking, and prolific offenders. The role supports Patrol, collaborates with police and external partners, builds community relationships, and contributes to crime prevention and safety initiatives. Work includes rotating shifts, covert or overt deployments, confidential intelligence handling, judicial authorizations, disclosure preparation, and investigative reporting.

Conduct detailed, evidence-focused investigations into serious and complex crimes, including assaults, suspicious deaths, sexual assaults, kidnappings, vulnerable-person crimes, and fraud. Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; manage offenders and risk assessments; gather and secure evidence; prepare judicial authorizations; provide court evidence; coordinate with partner agencies; and perform Major Case Management roles such as Affiant, Primary Investigator, and File Coordinator.

Temporary Constables perform high-visibility patrol duties in the Patrol Division, enforcing federal/provincial statutes and bylaws, liaising with community partners, supporting investigations and public safety operations, using lawful force when required, and maintaining required operational certifications and qualifications.

Uniform frontline first responder who patrols, responds to emergencies, enforces Criminal Code and other statutes, conducts investigations, manages critical incidents, provides first aid or facilitates medical care, liaises with community and partner agencies, conducts traffic and scene control, assists coroner, and maintains required qualifications. Work 12-hour rotating shifts and use proportional force per policy when necessary.

Perform uniform and occasional plain-clothes patrols enforcing criminal, federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Engage with community members, conduct foot and vehicle patrols, traffic/person checks, assist sudden-death investigations, collaborate with VicPD teams to prevent and solve crime, use proportional force per policy, maintain required qualifications, and work 12-hour rotating shifts.
