Location

We are looking for a Test  Engineer, based in Sofia, Bulgaria (hybrid mode of working).

Role Summary

As a Test  Engineer you will play a key role in delivering high-quality software by testing new features, investigating issues, validating integrations, and ensuring products perform reliably in real-world environments. You will collaborate across teams to identify quality risks early, improve testing practices, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our video technology solutions.

What You Will Do

• Review product requirements and participate in feature discussions to identify quality risks early in the development process.
• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for new features, bug fixes, and integrations.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and performance testing.
• Verify compatibility and interoperability between Milestone products and third-party devices and systems.
• Validate support for newly integrated cameras, video servers, and other security devices.
• Investigate software issues through log analysis, troubleshooting, and collaboration with developers.
• Analyze system behavior and network communication to identify defects and verify expected functionality.
• Report, track, verify, and retest defects throughout their lifecycle.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test documentation, and contribute to the team’s testing strategy.
• Support the development and maintenance of automated tests and testing tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, support teams, and other stakeholders to ensure high product quality.
• Identify and drive improvements in testing processes, tooling, efficiency, and test coverage.
• Support and guide less experienced team members through knowledge sharing and collaboration. 

What You Bring to The Team

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Experience designing and executing test cases and test plans.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and QA processes.
• Experience investigating and reproducing software defects.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP networking, TCP/UDP communication, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills. 

Nice to have

• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
• Experience with compatibility, interoperability, or integration testing.
• Familiarity with network analysis and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.
• Knowledge of networking and media streaming protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, and RTSP.
• Familiarity with video codecs and streaming technologies such as H.264, H.265, MJPEG, and MPEG-4.
• Experience working with virtual machines and virtualized environments.
• Experience testing hardware-integrated products, device drivers, or embedded systems.
• Experience performing performance, stability, or reliability testing.
