The intern will use analytical and visualization tools to evaluate market risks, summarize findings, build reports, present memorandums, and develop an understanding of enterprise controls, financial services, and insurance operations.

Supports investment, derivative, risk, and vendor operations for variable annuity portfolios. Responsibilities include investment and market data analysis, database maintenance, data integrity, reporting, quantitative analysis, process documentation, presentations, and collaboration with internal teams and external providers. The intern will also develop knowledge of variable annuities, their risk drivers, and supporting assets and derivatives while gaining exposure to actuarial and financial risk functions.

Summer 2027 actuarial interns will analyze variable annuity risks, market data, investment data, and risk metrics. Responsibilities include database maintenance, data integrity, business analysis, trend analysis, Excel modeling and VBA automation, process improvement, and presenting findings to teams and senior management. Candidates should demonstrate mathematical aptitude, technical skills, communication, initiative, and attention to detail. Preferred backgrounds include actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, finance, and economics.

Advance investment data, reporting, and technology capabilities by designing scalable data pipelines, monitoring and resolving data exceptions, building reports and dashboards, supporting product management and UAT, improving automation and governance, and partnering cross-functionally to maintain data quality and documentation.

Lead QA/Test efforts for complex IT initiatives: define QA strategy and test plans, drive automation roadmaps, mentor testers, oversee offshore teams, consult with IT and business stakeholders, and ensure compliance with quality and risk requirements.

Support derivative portfolio managers by monitoring listed and OTC interest-rate and equity derivatives, researching hedging strategies, building quantitative tools and risk reports, conducting market and P&L analysis, and contributing to quantitative projects to manage Variable Annuity and other risk exposures.

Lead capital-markets risk strategy for equities, fixed income and derivatives. Design, implement and monitor hedging and investing strategies, drive strategic growth projects, develop quantitative tools and valuation models, advise senior management, manage vendor/bank relationships, and attract and develop quantitative talent.

Lead and mentor QA team members, oversee offshore testing, design and present test strategies, drive automation and BDD frameworks in cloud environments, manage defect triage, and improve QA processes and metrics across projects.

Design, implement, test, and maintain enterprise microservices, web apps, and DevOps pipelines. Collaborate with stakeholders to define user stories, lead design/code reviews, create automated unit and BDD tests, maintain documentation, support L2+ operations, and mentor team members.
