- Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for key stakeholders.
- Closely collaborate with the actuarial valuation team in developing and understanding monthly financial results.
- Interface with key business partners throughout the organization, particularly with our actuarial functions, to improve the level of analytics and the timeliness of them, while effectively communicating the story behind results.
- Evaluate the company financial models to better compare actual results.
- Implement ways to better streamline financial data.
- Support technology initiatives that will improve efficiency and enhance control of financial analytics.
- Work on corporate projects and initiatives that supports the strategy of the company.
- Assist accounting teams in the state insurance department and regulatory requests on financial projections.
- Lead and develop team, by effective goal setting, coaching and feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related business discipline
FSA or Career ASA - 7+ years financial, insurance industry, or actuarial experience
- Excellent analytical skills and deep knowledge of insurance products, regulations, or insurance company structure from prior experience in roles such as pricing, modeling, valuation, risk management, inforce management, experience studies, hedging
- Ability to appropriately and professionally communicate complex concepts across multiple and varied audiences; internally and externally
- Ability to use own knowledge to challenge current methodologies/approaches and develop and execute on solutions to complex actuarial problems
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines - Managerial experience required. Able to lead, coach and advise team members.
- Strong desire to learn and grow; shows willingness to gain expertise in other areas, including but not limited to accounting standards, besides current areas of expertise to strengthen overall.
