Leads Unum’s corporate tax function, including federal and state income tax accounting, forecasting, compliance, tax planning, audits, controls, and technology strategy. Build relationships with brokers, agents, and consultants; educate them on products, pricing, compliance, and enrollment; build sales pipelines; assist with proposals, negotiations, and customer retention. The role includes structured training, mentoring, product education, and progression toward a commission-based sales position. Limited travel and obtaining insurance licenses in assigned states are required.

Provides bilingual English-Spanish customer support for benefit, claims, policy, and coverage inquiries. Retrieves information from multiple systems, explains responses clearly, documents interactions, protects customer privacy, resolves issues, and meets contact-center performance metrics. Requires completing training, following procedures, maintaining reliable attendance, and working an assigned weekday shift between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Develop and execute sourcing, category, supplier, and third-party risk strategies. Lead end-to-end sourcing, negotiations, supplier governance, due diligence, performance management, operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and exit planning. Partner with business leaders, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to manage critical suppliers and deliver commercial value. The role partners with territory sales managers and national recruiting teams, conducts field recruiting activities, and supports broker contracting while traveling up to 40%.

Develops machine learning, generative AI, statistical modeling, and analytics solutions for business challenges. Responsibilities include data engineering, complex SQL, predictive modeling, automation, cloud deployment, visualization, stakeholder communication, mentoring junior data scientists, and independent AI research. The role partners with engineering, IT, product, and business teams to operationalize scalable AI and analytical solutions.

Evaluates and selects risks within assigned authority limits to acquire and retain profitable insurance business. Partners with sales, service teams, brokers, and internal stakeholders; analyzes risk trends; supports policies and product initiatives; and ensures accurate, timely service. Provides technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to junior underwriters while influencing organizational change and profitable results.

Leads customer experience strategy by analyzing customer insights, Voice of the Customer feedback, journey data, and portfolio metrics. Partners with business and technology leaders to develop business cases, prioritize experience initiatives, support agile planning, evaluate ROI, and communicate plans and results to senior and enterprise leadership. Facilitates cross-functional alignment, transformation, continuous improvement, and customer-centric practices while mentoring team members and driving measurable customer and business outcomes.

Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI and machine learning solutions, including generative AI and LLM applications. Build RAG, AI agent, vector search, and knowledge assistant architectures on AWS. Establish MLOps and LLMOps practices, develop APIs and cloud-native services, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and governed responsibly. Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams while mentoring colleagues and advancing engineering standards.

Leads finance business partnering for Operations and Claims, including FP&A, forecasting, claims performance analysis, financial modeling, resource planning, business cases, management information, governance, and regulatory compliance. Partners with senior Operations, Finance, and Actuarial stakeholders, drives reporting and forecasting improvements, and leads a high-performing finance team.

Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis for UK and US stakeholders. Support annual planning, monthly performance reviews, executive decision-making, financial modelling, and reporting-tool enhancements.
