Leads 5–6 Clinical Aides during weekend shifts, ensuring patient safety, staffing, and a clean therapeutic environment. Provides patient support through individual interactions and group activities, conducts searches and drug screens, assists with visits and emergencies, documents in the electronic medical record, and follows infection control and safety procedures. Coordinates with clinical, nursing, admissions, and volunteer teams while supporting disciplinary and administrative processes.

Provides direct patient care and therapeutic support to adults and adolescents with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health disorders. Assists with activities of daily living, unit programming, patient searches, drug screens, safety procedures, rounds, documentation, recreational activities, and behavior programs. Communicates patient concerns to the treatment team, maintains therapeutic boundaries, supports de-escalation, and helps train new employees.

Manages nursing unit operations and staff while organizing and administering individualized behavioral health nursing care. Oversees staffing, scheduling, medication administration, infection control, patient education, safety procedures, emergency response, discharge planning, and quality initiatives. Supervises nurses, nursing assistants, students, and mental health technicians, collaborates with medical and pharmacy personnel, and ensures compliance with nursing standards and applicable regulations.

Manage the utilization review department and supervise treatment engagement specialists. Conduct concurrent and prior authorization reviews for psychiatric and substance use treatment, applying medical necessity and ASAM criteria. Coordinate with clinical, finance, and payer teams; manage appeals, denials, authorization records, and documentation quality. Develop procedures and training, educate staff, communicate with insurers, monitor utilization patterns, and support timely admissions and treatment engagement.

Maintain safety and security at a drug and alcohol treatment campus through screening for contraband, monitoring facility grounds and fire panels, greeting and processing patients/visitors, liaising with emergency services, performing environmental rounds, de-escalating incidents, and communicating issues to supervisors while preserving patient confidentiality.

Provide front-line IT support for desktops, telephony, and systems: troubleshoot and resolve issues, create and manage support tickets, set up new PCs, assist department leads, and travel occasionally between Malvern locations.

Conduct continued stay and concurrent utilization reviews for acute psychiatric and residential substance use clients, document authorizations, coordinate appeals, communicate ASAM and medical necessity criteria to payers, liaise with treatment teams and finance, maintain denial logs and review sheets, educate staff on documentation and insurance requirements, and support quality and compliance efforts.
