Terakeet Mission, Purpose & Impact

Terakeet Employee Perspectives

Terakeet is a leading reputation management company that helps some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 enterprises monitor and safeguard their brand sentiment online. Founded and headquartered in Syracuse, NY, Terakeet has proudly partnered with the MOST in support of the Science Learning Partnership program since 2024.

The Science Learning Partnership is a collaborative initiative created by the MOST and the Syracuse City School District (SCSD) to empower students to learn STEM concepts through hands-on, immersive experiences that complement classroom instruction and the New York State testing curriculum.

Terakeet’s advocacy for and contributions to the Science Learning Partnership underscore the company’s long-term commitment to championing SCSD students each year through fundraising efforts led by its employee-driven nonprofit, Cause For The Cuse.

Empowering SCSD Students Together

Since its founding by Terakeet employees in 2013, Cause For The Cuse has remained steadfast in its mission to create a lasting, meaningful impact on the Syracuse community by investing in its students and providing the assistance they need to succeed throughout their academic journeys. In just over a decade, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 20,000 students across thirty schools in the Syracuse area.

In July 2026, Cause For The Cuse held the inaugural Terakeet Invitational, its largest-ever fundraiser event, to increase educational opportunities for local students. Sponsored by 40 organizations, the Terakeet Invitational brought together community and business leaders, volunteers, and over 100 attendees and raised more than $150,000 over the course of the day. All proceeds from the event went towards external academic programs and resources such as essential school supplies to prepare SCSD students for the upcoming school year, with a portion of the funds donated directly to the MOST’s Science Learning Partnership program.

About Terakeet

Terakeet was co-founded by central New York natives Mac Cummings and Patrick Danial in 2001. From its early beginnings in the speech recognition space, Terakeet has evolved into a partner that equips renowned brands and individuals with expertise, proprietary insights, and tailored strategies to manage their digital reputation and visibility across organic search and AI platforms.

Guided by innovative leadership and the core values of teamwork, excellence, partnership, grit, and impact, Terakeet has not only positioned itself at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry but has also remained a certified Great Place To Work since 2017. The company’s dedication to delivering exceptional client results is matched by its unwavering belief in fostering an internal culture of inclusivity and philanthropic giving.

Alongside Cause For The Cuse, Terakeet supports organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse, the Mary Nelson Youth Center, and Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).

Headquartered in Syracuse, NY, Terakeet is an industry leader in reputation management and generative AI optimization. Recognized for partnering with some of the world’s most notable Fortune 500 enterprises and individuals, Terakeet also continues to make a lasting impact locally — especially in the lives of Syracuse’s youth.

Since 2015, Terakeet has supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse’s mission to uplift the children and families who participate in our programs. Through initiatives like its company-wide annual holiday fundraiser, Terakeet has raised funds that are given directly to a handful of families with children participating in the program to spend on gifts and meals, making their holiday seasons even brighter. Those monetary donations not only ease the financial burden on parents but also lift the spirits of our Club kids, whose character and performance throughout the year helped their families be selected as recipients.

In 2026, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse received a donation from Cause For The Cuse (CFTC), Terakeet’s employee-run nonprofit, underscoring the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting our local chapter and the broader community.

A Legacy of Philanthropy in the Syracuse Area

Terakeet’s efforts to give back to the city where it’s based have benefited several nonprofits since the company’s founding over two decades ago. Each year, Terakeet is steadfast in its pursuit of opportunities to invest in students within the Syracuse City School District (SCSD).

Alongside its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs, Terakeet champions organizations such as the Mary Nelson Youth Center, the Central New York Jazz Arts Foundation, and the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST). Since Terakeet employees launched Cause For The Cuse in 2013, it has supported more than 20,000 SCSD students through its fundraising events, with all proceeds directed toward educational programs and essential academic resources.

Why it matters here

The children Cause For The Cuse serves are the same children who line up at Meachem Field every August. Our Annual Youth Day Celebration & Backpack Giveaway sends every registered student home with a backpack and a full set of grade-appropriate school supplies — and it runs entirely on the generosity of partners like Terakeet.

Their support helps us cover:

  • Backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies for every registered student
  • Food, music, and a free full day of celebration for families
  • On-site community partners offering clothing, health, and education resources
  • Year-round distribution that continues after the main event, so no child is left behind

A partnership that keeps showing up

In August 2025, when we ran low on backpacks partway through the giveaway, Terakeet stepped up — Cause For The Cuse donated $10,000 so that no child went home empty-handed. The story was covered by syracuse.com. Terakeet and Cause For The Cuse continued the partnership in 2026, donating another $10,000 to the giveaway.

Terakeet is listed among our Youth Day Celebration sponsors year after year, and Cause For The Cuse continues to support the Mary Nelson Youth Center alongside other Syracuse organizations working with local students. That kind of steady, repeated commitment is what allows us to plan bigger each year and promise families that the doors will be open again come August.

On behalf of every student who walks away from Meachem Field ready for the first day of school: thank you, Terakeet and Cause For The Cuse.
