Design APIs, data models, schemas, and integrations; develop Kafka-based event-driven services, internal backoffices, and auditable workflows. Establish testing, observability, incident response, and engineering standards for a new squad. Collaborate with engineering, sales, analytics, and leadership while mentoring teammates and using AI coding tools responsibly.

Support German-speaking merchants during onboarding by guiding product setup and activation, driving early adoption, monitoring inactive users, and helping merchants achieve first transactions. Collaborate with sales on handovers, resolve onboarding issues, escalate complex cases, and provide inbound support. The role is onsite at SumUp’s Barcelona headquarters and requires fluent German and English communication skills.

Build and maintain Android applications, SDKs, and SuperApp features for card readers, including Bluetooth Low Energy, online and offline payments, and Tap to Pay. Refactor legacy code, improve reliability and performance, write unit and integration tests, and contribute to CI/CD improvements. Own the analytical narrative for SumUp’s Payments Tribe by transforming complex payment metrics into actionable insights. Redesign Tableau dashboards, establish KPI hierarchies and documentation, identify product opportunities and risks, support experimentation, and create standards enabling stakeholder self-service. The role requires strong Tableau visualization, SQL-based analysis and validation, product analytics experience, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.

Lead and scale SumUp's European Key Account Sales across four markets. Own European revenue, coach Team Leads, standardize a cross-market playbook, target high-value merchants (TPV €50k+), and partner with Product, Marketing, and Solutions Engineering to win complex enterprise deals.

Manage inbound cancellation cases and proactive outreach to at-risk merchants, providing personalized solutions, training, troubleshooting, and re-onboarding to reduce churn. Maintain high-volume call and resolution workflows, meet retention and revenue-protection KPIs, and surface recurring customer issues. The role requires strong objection handling, de-escalation, communication, CRM proficiency, and familiarity with POS or payment processing systems.

Conduct outbound calls to Finnish merchants, understand their needs, qualify prospects for SumUp’s POS and payment solutions, and schedule localized appointments for Field Sales representatives. Build native Android features for merchant-facing Pix payment flows, including Pix transactions, automatic Pix, and Pix credit. The role is based in an office-first setup in São Paulo and includes mentorship within a multicultural engineering team.
