Lead U.S. federal growth across defense and civilian agencies by managing business development, capture, government affairs, strategic partnerships, proposals, and customer engagement. Own the full customer lifecycle for Wayfinder accounts across EMEA, including onboarding, adoption, renewals, expansion, portfolio health, and customer advocacy. Build relationships with maritime stakeholders, demonstrate fuel and cost savings, identify risks, influence product direction, and partner with sales on commercial growth. The role requires maritime industry credibility, autonomous work, executive communication, and travel across EMEA.

Develop production software for maritime route optimization, vessel performance and fuel-consumption modeling, voyage analysis, simulation, and route evaluation. Build and improve optimization algorithms, APIs, services, testing, and explainable recommendation systems using Rust and Python. Collaborate with engineers, product experts, and maritime specialists to translate complex physical and mathematical problems into maintainable software supporting U.S. Government and defense customers.

Build and maintain full-stack cloud software for ocean-sensing systems, including React applications and TypeScript, Express, and PostgreSQL APIs. Own features end to end, from architecture and data storage through testing, CI/CD, monitoring, optimization, and maintenance. Collaborate with hardware, firmware, design, product, and science teams; improve performance for real-time data visualization; automate remote hardware configuration; and mentor engineers through collaboration and code reviews.

Embed with defense users to train, enable, and problem-solve using Sofar Spotter hardware and ocean intelligence. Build the Defense customer success function (onboarding, playbooks, TTPs), lead deployments and exercises, capture field learnings for Product, collaborate with Sales and internal teams, and travel extensively to support and grow accounts.

Own mechanical hardware designs from concept and CAD through prototyping, validation, production, and field deployment. Design reliable hardware for harsh marine environments while balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule. Build, test, debug, and improve prototypes and production hardware; lead design reviews; collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams; and work with suppliers, machine shops, vendors, and contract manufacturers to scale components and assemblies.

Identify, engage, and build pipelines of technical and industry-specialist talent for maritime and climate tech. Partner with People Team and hiring managers to understand hiring needs, use Boolean search, ATS (Ashby), and creative channels beyond LinkedIn to meet metrics-driven sourcing goals. Own sourcing strategy and candidate pipeline in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup (hybrid work).

Design, implement, and maintain FreeRTOS-based embedded firmware in C/C++ with automated unit and integration tests; build Bristlemouth integrations; create host-side test and automation tools in Python; collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers on system integration, testing and deployments; drive releases, documentation, and technical leadership for firmware teams.

Lead R&D for underwater acoustics: define scientific vision, develop detection/classification/localization and acoustic mapping capabilities, guide sensing design and deployments, run field experiments and analyses, translate research into operational products, and represent the company to partners and customers.
