About The Position
As a Sourcing Partner at Sofar Ocean, you will be at the forefront of our recruiting efforts, focusing on identifying, engaging, and building relationships with top-tier talent in the industry as it relates to maritime and climate tech. You will partner closely with our People Team and hiring managers to deeply understand our hiring needs and source candidates who will thrive in our fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Who You Are:Experienced Sourcer: You have 6+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
Tech-Savvy: You possess a strong understanding of technical roles, skills, and the tech landscape, allowing you to effectively identify and assess top talent. You have a track record sourcing for technical and industry-specialist roles simultaneously
Proactive Communicator: You excel at engaging candidates through thoughtful outreach and building long-term relationships with potential hires. You are curious and you love learning about people and how they can contribute to Sofar's overall mission.
Results-Driven: You thrive in a metrics-driven environment and are motivated by the challenge of meeting and exceeding sourcing goals. You have a comfort with Boolean search, ATS tools (we use Ashby), and creative channels beyond LinkedIn
Adaptable: You are comfortable navigating change and ambiguity in a growing company and are always looking for ways to improve and innovate your sourcing approach. You have a independent operator mindset, comfortable owning your pipeline with minimal hand-holding

Ownership: You will own strategy around sourcing and building the talent within Sofar Ocean. You'll be Sofar Ocean's first Sourcing Partner.
$120,000 - $150,000
The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, and equity package.

Sofar connects the world's oceans to power a more sustainable future. Sofar unlocks ocean data at scale. We deployed hundreds of Spotters globally to create the world’s largest privately-owned network of ocean sensors that collects 1.5 million real-time observations daily. Our team of ocean scientists assimilates this real-time data into our marine weather forecasts, which are up to 50% more accurate than traditional models. In maritime shipping, we use these high-accuracy forecasts and vessel performance models to provide optimized guidance and save ships time, fuel, and emissions. We also equip researchers, operators, and innovators with our devices and data to power marine research and sustainable commercial solutions. Customers access data from our global sensor network and deploy our extensible Spotter platform to collect real-time surface and subsurface observations.
