Performs electrical calculations, selects components, specifies cabinets and related hardware, prepares drawings and reports, and supports manufacturing. The role requires applying electrical codes and safety standards, integrating HVAC controls and communication protocols, managing revisions in PDM systems, and collaborating with sales, service, engineering, and production teams. This is a fully onsite bilingual English-French position.

Develop regional and global supply chain strategies, manage strategic supplier relationships, lead sourcing and category initiatives, negotiate pricing, optimize supplier costs, and improve procurement processes. The role drives supplier performance, cost reduction, supply continuity, new product introduction sourcing, procure-to-pay infrastructure, and cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, quality, materials, and IT. It requires HVAC industry knowledge, sourcing experience, cost modeling, negotiation expertise, and strong stakeholder management.

Leads manufacturing quality engineering across NPI, suppliers, production, testing, shipment readiness, and field quality. Analyzes nonconformance and failure data, leads root-cause investigations and CAPA, develops PFMEAs, control plans, SOPs, and error-proofing, and drives continuous improvement. Supports product testing, commissioning, capability studies, pre-shipment reviews, design reviews, supplier audits, and corrective actions. The role requires cross-functional leadership, technical communication, and experience with complex engineered HVAC products and quality standards.

Independently execute system engineering work packages for chiller and electrified heating systems. Develop system specifications, functional requirements, and performance targets; perform thermodynamic analysis and modeling; select components; validate schematics, P&IDs, and layouts; support prototype construction, commissioning, and testing; analyze results and implement corrective actions; troubleshoot system issues; and support certification and compliance activities.

Develop and test PLC control logic and HMI applications for industrial chiller systems. Support software maintenance, troubleshooting, factory and site acceptance testing, documentation, version control, and commissioning activities. Collaborate with controls and engineering teams while building expertise in industrial communications, HVAC controls, automation, and software development. The role is designed for a recent or upcoming mechatronics or electrical engineering graduate and includes guidance from experienced controls engineers.

Leads Smardt’s global Lean transformation and designs the enterprise Lean operating system. The role oversees strategy deployment, value-stream optimization, daily management, Kaizen, problem solving, performance dashboards, and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites and corporate functions. It coaches executives and frontline teams, develops Lean champions, standardizes best practices, validates financial impact, and supports new-plant launches and operational growth initiatives worldwide.

Leads a contract engineering design team, assigning workloads, mentoring staff, and reviewing, approving, stamping, and signing production drawings. Ensures documentation meets manufacturing, assembly, quality, customer, and industry standards. Oversees Autodesk Inventor and Vault practices, BOMs, tolerances, engineering changes, and fabrication details. Partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, production, purchasing, quality, sales, and project management while driving standardization, automation, modularization, and continuous improvement.

Lead Smardt’s global hyperscale partnerships strategy by developing executive relationships with cloud, neocloud, colocation, engineering, and technology organizations. Drive approved-vendor and preferred-supplier status, influence data centre specifications, build strategic opportunity pipelines, and position cooling technologies for AI and high-density computing. Coordinate qualification, technical evaluation, and ecosystem engagement while translating customer requirements into internal priorities across Sales, Engineering, Product, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Frequent domestic and international travel is required.

Design and improve oil-free HVAC chillers: create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings, run engineering calculations and FEA, validate prototypes, support manufacturing, manage engineering changes, and ensure compliance with applicable standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Coordinate and enforce site safety during construction, installation, and commissioning of a manufacturing facility. Manage contractor compliance, conduct hazard assessments, develop site-specific procedures (LOTO, confined space, hot work), perform inspections/audits, deliver orientations/toolbox talks, and drive corrective actions until closure to support safe startup and operations.

Lead and supervise a mechanical assembly team on-site to meet production targets, quality and safety standards. Manage daily production, train staff, maintain records, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

Lead mechanical design and engineering for HVAC products in North America, translating customer requirements into manufacturable designs, owning airflow/thermal performance, coordinating with global teams, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving product standardization, cost reduction, and certification.

Manage and validate employee timecards, track attendance, investigate and correct time discrepancies, and support payroll data submission. Generate attendance and overtime reports, maintain compliance and confidential records, recommend system improvements, and provide reception and general administrative support including phone, visitor handling, scheduling, and data entry.

Lead global relationship and negotiations with Smardt's primary compressor supplier to secure capacity, manage pricing and contracts, resolve critical quality issues, enforce liability and claims, coordinate cross-regional supply allocation, and report supplier performance and risks to leadership.

Perform brazing operations to join metal components: prepare and align parts, apply flux and filler, heat with torch or furnace, inspect joints, perform pressure/visual tests, read blueprints, and correct defects while meeting quality and safety specifications.

Lead global relationship and negotiations with Smardt's primary compressor supplier to secure capacity, pricing, and rapid response for critical quality, delivery, warranty issues. Coordinate cross-regional demand-supply balancing, risk mitigation, executive reporting, and supplier contingency planning while driving supplier accountability and protecting production continuity.

Supervise daily electrical assembly operations onsite, manage and mentor assemblers and electricians, plan and schedule work, estimate labor/materials, maintain documentation, ensure compliance with technical specs and safety, oversee wiring, testing and troubleshooting, and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
