Provides administrative and document-management support to the global legal function. Manages contract intake, lifecycle tracking, renewals, signatures, version control, filing, and records maintenance. Conducts basic legal, regulatory, business, and industry research; prepares concise summaries; supports invoice review, vendor setup, and external counsel administration. Maintains contract templates, playbooks, checklists, and legal records while coordinating stakeholders across regions and time zones.

Supports SMARDT’s global ESG program across AMER, EMEA, and GAPAC by coordinating regional initiatives, integrating ESG into enterprise risk management, maintaining policies, validating data, preparing reports and audit documentation, monitoring regulatory requirements, and driving corrective actions and employee engagement. The role partners cross-functionally to translate sustainability expectations into measurable business processes and supports governance committees and stakeholder requests.

Leads SMARDT’s global ethics and compliance program across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include compliance risk assessments, policy development, training, reporting mechanisms, internal investigations, third-party due diligence, regulatory monitoring, control testing, remediation, dashboards, and executive advising. The role collaborates with Legal, HR, Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, Information Security, EHS, and operations to promote consistent compliance practices and an ethical speak-up culture.

Support corporate marketing leadership to maintain brand governance, manage the React-based website and social channels, create visual and video content, run internal communications, coordinate global events/trade shows, track engagement metrics, integrate AI tools into workflows, and manage external agencies and creative partners.

Support, maintain, and improve engineering automation systems (Autodesk Inventor assemblies, iLogic, add-ins, SQL-backed tools, AI-assisted apps). Troubleshoot, reproduce and document defects, test fixes, train users, collect feedback, maintain backlog, and implement minor enhancements under manager direction. Act as liaison between engineering users and Engineering Systems & Automation.

Lead and execute product and regional marketing for chillers and heat pumps across the Americas. Develop go-to-market plans, launch toolkits, sales enablement, digital and social campaigns, regional events, market research, and website/content management while collaborating with R&D, engineering, sales, and product teams to drive revenue growth.

Support HR Business Partner delivering end-to-end HR services to corporate and technology teams: manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, act as HR point of contact for employees and managers, maintain HRIS and payroll communications, ensure Canadian/Quebec employment compliance, administer benefits, coordinate offboarding and leave accommodations, and support HR projects, policy development and people-leader development initiatives.

Manage end-to-end accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, payment application, reconciliations, account maintenance, credit limits with insurer, liaison with product/manufacturing/sales to resolve billing issues, analyze data with spreadsheets, prepare monthly commission reports, and identify risks for CFO.

Lead financial operations for the Manufacturing Business Unit: manage inventory and product costing, produce monthly/quarterly/annual reports, support budgeting/forecasting and FP&A, partner with plant leadership on KPIs and cost-savings, oversee audits and internal controls, and supervise a small finance team.

Provide functional support, configuration, maintenance and optimization of the ERP (Dynamics NAV/Business Central). Translate business processes into system specifications, support integrations, participate in implementations and upgrades, deliver training, reporting and documentation, and promote standardized processes and continuous improvement across global sites.

Lead execution and governance of the technical product roadmap for an assigned chiller product line. Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, commercial), manage product changes, drive cost optimization and performance improvements, assess risks, and ensure alignment with global product strategy while reporting progress and maintaining portfolio visibility.

Design and improve oil-free HVAC chillers: create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings, run engineering calculations and FEA, validate prototypes, support manufacturing, manage engineering changes, and ensure compliance with applicable standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Support design, implementation and commissioning of manufacturing automation systems. Assist automation integration projects, material handling solutions, equipment testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and the Automation SME to launch and optimize automation for Smardt's new Kirkland facility.

Lead global relationship and negotiations with Smardt's primary compressor supplier to secure capacity, manage pricing and contracts, resolve critical quality issues, enforce liability and claims, coordinate cross-regional supply allocation, and report supplier performance and risks to leadership.

Provide regional corporate and commercial legal support for Canada and the U.S.: draft and negotiate contracts, advise on regulatory and compliance matters, manage governance and disputes, coordinate external counsel, support risk management and regional strategic initiatives.

Manage and validate employee timecards, track attendance, investigate and correct time discrepancies, and support payroll data submission. Generate attendance and overtime reports, maintain compliance and confidential records, recommend system improvements, and provide reception and general administrative support including phone, visitor handling, scheduling, and data entry.

Participate in warranty system review, analyze process data, lead investigations into nonconformances/customer complaints/supplier defects, implement Poka-Yoke and CAPA, validate process changes, support supplier quality and documentation control in a manufacturing environment.

Designs, programs, tests and maintains chiller control software and HMIs; performs commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, vendor interfacing, communication protocol configuration, project scoping, continuous improvements, and mentors junior staff.

Lead global relationship and negotiations with Smardt's primary compressor supplier to secure capacity, pricing, and rapid response for critical quality, delivery, warranty issues. Coordinate cross-regional demand-supply balancing, risk mitigation, executive reporting, and supplier contingency planning while driving supplier accountability and protecting production continuity.

Lead and supervise a mechanical assembly team on-site to meet production targets, quality and safety standards. Manage daily production, train staff, maintain records, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
