Leads legislative advocacy and policy analysis for SDG&E and SoCalGas before the California State Legislature. Evaluates legislative proposals, regulatory filings, and policy trends; recommends organizational positions and advocacy strategies; advises stakeholders; coordinates cross-functional policy workstreams; represents the organization in hearings and stakeholder forums; and builds relationships with legislators, agencies, and associations. Frequent independent driving to meetings and company or field locations is required.

Performs moderately complex general accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, preparing routine financial reports, analyzing variances, reconciling accounts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting audits and compliance requirements. The role requires knowledge of journal entries, recurring transactions, period-end close, accounting policies, and preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. It also involves explaining accounting results to non-accounting stakeholders and exercising judgment within established guidelines.

Leads accounting policy research, evaluates emerging GAAP and statutory standards, advises on complex transactions, and implements accounting guidance across business processes and systems. Oversees SOX compliance, including risk and control documentation, scoping, remediation, and reporting. Partners with Finance, IT, audit, and business teams on financial reporting, internal controls, system implementations, and disclosure activities while mentoring accounting professionals.
