Support full-cycle intern recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, ATS maintenance, recruitment reporting, and employer branding. Support the CTO and CSO by coordinating technical and scientific strategy across research, product, and engineering. Track major initiatives, milestones, dependencies, and risks; prepare strategic briefings and leadership reviews; improve organizational processes and communication; facilitate cross-team execution; and lead strategic projects that help scale the technical organization.

Characterize fabricated photonic integrated circuits through optical and electrical die-level measurements. Operate and maintain laboratory setups, ensure calibration and traceability, analyze device performance, troubleshoot experiments, and develop Python automation and data-analysis scripts. Improve qualification workflows, documentation, reproducibility, and statistical monitoring across fabrication batches. Collaborate with simulation, design, packaging, and cryogenic teams to support device selection and scalable quantum hardware integration.

Design and simulate photonic integrated circuit components, including waveguides, interferometers, beam splitters, phase shifters, and reconfigurable elements. Translate simulations into manufacturable GDS layouts, prepare foundry tape-outs, analyze characterization data, and refine designs based on fabrication feedback. The role also contributes to design-for-manufacturing methodologies, high-speed photonic integrations, and scalable quantum processor architectures.

Lead foundational IT systems across Quandela’s headquarters and international subsidiaries. Responsibilities include user and device support, identity and network administration, cloud and application management, subsidiary onboarding, vendor coordination, IT governance, security hardening, monitoring, sovereign-cloud migrations, and responsible AI adoption. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on contribution, cybersecurity improvement, business-process partnership, and consistent international IT service delivery.

Develop and evaluate classical, quantum, and hybrid machine-learning methods for quantum computing. Responsibilities include designing models, improving quantum-system calibration and control, benchmarking methods, contributing to the MerLin framework, publishing research, presenting findings, collaborating with academic and multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring junior researchers.

Perform hands-on optical characterization of single-photon sources in cavities, optimize excitation and pulse shaping, measure KPIs (lifetime, indistinguishability, brightness, purity, spin), automate instrumentation and data processing with Python, work with cryogenics/vacuum and collaborate with fabrication and production teams to improve procedures and reproducibility.

Lead and conduct advanced research in quantum computing and photonic quantum systems, develop novel concepts and translate them into prototypes, publications, and patents. Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary R&D projects, support program proposals and collaborations with government and industry, mentor junior researchers, and contribute to Quandela's U.S. research roadmap and strategic objectives.

The Research Engineer will develop and operate spin-control experiments, optimize system performance, and contribute to the research roadmap in quantum optics and spin manipulation.

You will work with lead researchers on developing a module for quantum processing units, enhancing their capabilities in photonic quantum information processing.

Evaluate and adapt advanced fault-tolerant quantum algorithms for Quandela's spin-photonic architecture, perform resource estimation and simulations, collaborate with hardware and FTQC teams, contribute to R&D projects, and communicate results through reports and publications.

Develop and validate spin-based quantum experiments: design optical spin-photon source experiments, implement optical spin control and readout, measure coherence and entanglement fidelity, collaborate with theory and engineering teams, and translate results into robust building blocks for hybrid quantum computing architectures.
