Perform general road construction labour: digging, shoveling, raking, compacting granular base, placing materials, operating small compaction gear and concrete chop saws, removing debris, and raising/lowering catch basins and manholes. Work long hours in a physically demanding, safety-focused team environment. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet driving and medical fitness conditions.

Perform yard operations including directing truck traffic, checking loads, customer interaction, routine yard maintenance (grass cutting, garbage pickup), general labour tasks, and assist/learn to operate a front end loader while maintaining safety and accountability.

Perform grade and general survey tasks for excavation projects: read drawings and grade stakes, provide cut/fill directions, guide equipment operators around utilities, set up barricades/signage, assist with equipment inspections and maintenance, and work long hours in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety and teamwork.

Perform underground pipelaying using pipe lasers and transits, install and secure pipe with proper bedding, apply shoring and safe excavation practices, set core elevations, assist with rigging and small equipment, maintain equipment, and follow city specifications and safety procedures.

Perform traffic control: slow, stop, alternate and release traffic; set up and move barricades; clean construction debris; assist vehicle and equipment movement on site and act as spotter. Work is seasonal, physically demanding, with training available and optional night shift.
