Lob Mission, Purpose & Impact

Lob Employee Perspectives

We’ve had a partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects for a handful of years. Eden will plant two trees for every one that we use in production of our mail pieces, through our donations. That set the precedent for a lot of this other work that has happened.

Lob employees can see how their individual work contributes directly to the company’s growth. In demand generation, that impact comes from creating campaigns, understanding customer behavior and helping turn interest in Lob’s products into tangible sales opportunities.

“I’m responsible for demand generation at Lob, which is the area of marketing that focuses on creating and nurturing interest in our software. My team launches marketing campaigns and tactics to drive potential customers to the next stage of the sales funnel. This includes activities like distributing content, running advertising campaigns, managing social media and email marketing, and analyzing data to understand customer behavior and preferences. Really it’s all about generating leads and sales opportunities for the company. It’s insanely fun.”

Lob’s mission extends beyond helping businesses automate direct mail to using that technology to support nonprofits and make the industry more sustainable. Employees can help develop programs that give nonprofit teams more time for mission-critical work while also advancing initiatives designed to reduce direct mail’s environmental impact.

“I was really drawn to the fact that Lob, at the time a Series B company with roughly 100 employees, was thinking about how to build social impact into the company early on. Hiring for this role spoke a lot about the culture and the leadership, and it compelled me to join. I also saw a huge opportunity to leverage direct mail automation to better support nonprofits and save their staff time to focus on other mission-critical work and make this a more sustainable industry. Direct mail is a channel that a lot of nonprofits rely on, and it returns the highest ROI in terms of fundraising. I'm so excited about how we'll continue to build out and work more closely with nonprofits in the coming years.

We’re also expanding our sustainability efforts and launching carbon neutral direct mail soon, which I’m really excited about. We’re setting a new sustainability standard for the industry!”
