Everything we do is all centered around customers. If you think five years back, it's very atypical to get into a car with strangers, so technology is definitely changing the way we live. As an insurance company, we want to be on the forefront of it. Instead of being reactive to industry trends, we want to be really proactive about it. That's why technology is super important here at Liberty Mutual. We want to anticipate what customers need, what prospects need before they even realize they have that need.

Going through the Tech-Start program was a really interesting experience. We started by picking up a problem that needed solving, developed a proof-of-concept, and presented it to senior leadership. Tech-Start gave me a support system as I transitioned from college to my first job, helping me navigate a completely different environment alongside others in the same shoes.

Working in technology at Liberty Mutual is dynamic and constantly evolving. As technology and customer needs change rapidly, the focus is on building flexible systems that can deliver customer value quickly within short lifecycles, typically under two years. It's exciting to witness how a company with over a century of history is growing, transforming, and adapting to the market and customer demands.
