Serve as the hospital’s first point of contact by registering and admitting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, operating the switchboard, directing callers and visitors, and supporting patient flow through accurate data entry and clear communication with clinical and non-clinical staff.

Provide direct obstetrical nursing care, coordinate and communicate client care with the health team, organize nursing duties during shifts, complete orientation and achieve proficiency within six months, participate in cross-training, and follow hospital standards and safety procedures.

Provide direct nursing care for obstetrical and medical/surgical patients, coordinate care with the health team, communicate on behalf of patients, complete orientation and cross-training, and demonstrate core organizational values. Work 12-hour mostly night/rotating shifts (24-30 weekly hours) with physical patient-handling duties and infection-control precautions.

Provides anesthesia management and airway/cardiopulmonary resuscitation for patients during surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. Administers epidurals per physician order, collaborates with physicians and licensed staff, follows South Dakota scope of practice, is on-site 0700–1500 M–F with 24-hour on-call coverage, practices safe patient handling, and demonstrates leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Six-week program for final-year nursing students providing 160 hours of mentored direct patient care, observation in two specialty areas, and participation in an evidence-based project team. Designed to build clinical confidence, critical thinking, prioritization, and time-management skills in a supportive community hospital setting, with financial assistance.

Rotate through multiple nursing areas under RN or director supervision, observe and practice direct nursing care for clients, coordinate care with the health team, communicate on behalf of clients, and organize accountable nursing tasks during shifts. Eligible students may receive paid on-the-job training after licensure.

Rotate through 4-6 nursing areas under RN supervision, observe and practice direct nursing care, communicate and coordinate with health team members, organize accountable nursing tasks, and work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights.
