Analyzes healthcare revenue, managed care contracts, reimbursement changes, payer mix, acuity, volume, and profitability. Supports contract modeling, underpayment identification, Medicare and Medi-Cal impact analysis, month-end reporting, operating revenue budgeting, and financial guidance for clinical and administrative leadership. Requires healthcare finance experience, knowledge of managed care and government reimbursement, hospital revenue cycle operations, medical coding concepts, accounting principles, and financial reporting.

Responsible for resolving patient and payor accounts, obtaining maximum reimbursement, initiating appeals for underpayments, interpreting EOBs/ERAs, using Epic and patient accounting systems, documenting actions, establishing payment arrangements, and mentoring/training peers while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Supports heart catheterization lab operations through patient transport, room turnover, equipment and specimen handling, procedure preparation, patient positioning and prepping, supply management, and communication. In the Cath Lab, the assistant manages supplies using a LEAN par system, coordinates sterile instruments, transports non-controlled pharmaceuticals, supports staff training on sanitization and supply distribution, and serves as a department resource and product liaison.

Coordinates complex surgical and procedure scheduling, including appointments, add-ons, emergent procedures, diagnostic tests, clearances, insurance authorization, patient itineraries, and resource needs. Provides patient registration, chart preparation, data entry, clerical support, and high-volume call handling. Collaborates with patients, physicians, insurance specialists, and hospital departments while maintaining confidentiality and participating in quality improvement.

Performs routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures, obtains and evaluates high-quality images, educates patients and families, documents patient information, reports status changes, and initiates emergency response when necessary. May participate in call rotations and work at adjacent imaging locations. Requires an associate degree or higher, approved ultrasound program completion, BLS, and ARDMS registration or eligibility.

Manages Hoag’s Epic applications portfolio, including system maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, data quality, end-user support, and staff performance. Leads Epic analysts and coordinates complex programs and projects, including implementations, process improvements, infrastructure enhancements, and technical upgrades. Oversees project planning, budgeting, reporting, change management, compliance, and collaboration with healthcare business units and IT infrastructure teams.

Performs complex microbiology testing on patient specimens, including organism identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Reviews, interprets, and reports results according to laboratory principles and regulatory standards. Maintains records, calibrates and maintains instruments, resolves testing issues, follows quality control procedures, and participates in continuous improvement and education. Requires independent overnight work, rotating weekends, a relevant bachelor’s degree, microbiology experience, and California clinical laboratory licensure and certifications.

Provides direct nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients in a cardiovascular operating room. Prepares surgical rooms, verifies specialized equipment, maintains sterile technique, monitors hemodynamics, manages blood products, assists with cardiac devices, responds to emergencies, documents intraoperative care, coordinates patient handoffs, participates in on-call coverage, mentors junior nurses, and supports continuous improvement.

Provides direct perioperative patient care, including assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administration, specimen collection, patient education, and discharge planning. Collaborates with the healthcare team, applies evidence-based nursing practices, evaluates care plans, and addresses ethical, legal, and medical concerns. The role also requires participation in clinical ladder activities and professional development.

Supports operating room teams with patient positioning, prepping, transfers, equipment and specialty-item preparation, room turnover, cleaning, specimen transport, and basic patient care. Assists surgical technologists, registered nurses, and physicians during procedures, including opening sterile supplies and preparing equipment for spinal fusion cases. May maintain procedural technology and serve as an operating room assistant. Requires at least six months of operating room assistant experience, competency training, and BLS certification.

Resolves hospital accounts and payment issues with insurers, government payors, and patients. Reviews claims, underpayments, appeals, EOBs, ERAs, contracts, billing edits, and reimbursement rates. Documents account activity, establishes payment arrangements, applies insurance codes, and handles special account situations. Collector II employees support multiple payors or departments, research complex issues, assist with peer training, and contribute to special projects while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Performs routine CT examinations under the direction of technical and medical supervisors, educates patients and families, provides service recovery, follows radiation safety and regulatory requirements, participates in quality improvement, and supports departmental policies. May provide call coverage or rotate among nearby imaging centers. Requires California radiologic licensure, ARRT radiology and CT credentials, BLS certification, and venipuncture certification.

Manage the financial lifecycle of clinical trials and research grants: budgeting, sponsor negotiations, invoicing, revenue management, post-award monitoring, compliance (FDA/ICH/GCP/MCA), reporting, and team leadership. Oversee policy/procedure development, Medicare Coverage Analysis, CTMS and ERP usage, and provide financial analysis and variance reporting to investigators and leadership.

Provide pre- and post-transplant clinical pharmacy services for abdominal transplant recipients; participate in multidisciplinary rounds; review medication profiles; develop drug protocols and guidelines; consult, monitor, and direct drug therapies; educate patients, caregivers, and staff; maintain and improve pharmaceutical care services and participate in quality improvement and related committees.

Provides extracorporeal support and monitoring for adult cardiovascular patients in the CVOR. Manages heart-lung machines, ECLS, blood conservation, anticoagulation, blood gas and chemistry analysis, administers medications/blood products per physician orders, prepares and maintains perfusion equipment, documents care, completes pre-procedure checklists, responds on-call within 30 minutes, mentors perfusion staff, and contributes to departmental training, protocol review, and research dissemination.
