The role is full-time and on-site in the Salina, Kansas area during the summer, involving collaboration with engineers and production-floor employees, problem solving, project planning, and applying engineering knowledge in a manufacturing environment.

Supports daily Foreign Trade Zone operations by preparing customs documentation, coordinating import filings with brokers, reconciling inventory, monitoring shipments, resolving discrepancies, maintaining audit records, and ensuring compliance with CBP, FTZ Board, Census Bureau, OSHA, and other regulations.

Paid, year-round manufacturing apprenticeship for full-time K-State Salina students. Apprentices work at least 20 hours weekly while rotating through assembly, fabrication, welding, material handling, and engineering support. Training includes product assembly, welding robot operation and programming, automation, product-flow layout, troubleshooting, and leadership development. Students must maintain full-time enrollment, pursue an eligible engineering or manufacturing degree, and maintain a GPA of at least 2.8.
