Manufacturing Engineer drives cross-functional manufacturing programs from design reviews through production trials. Responsibilities include managing timelines, coordinating Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, Quality, and Manufacturing teams, tracking issues and action owners, maintaining schedules, reporting progress, and ensuring safety compliance. The role is on-site in Salina, Kansas, supporting fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly operations.

Lead continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing facilities using lean methods. Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operations data; scope and implement cost-effective process improvements; act as liaison between shop floor and management; travel day trips up to 50% within North Central Kansas; follow OSHA safety requirements.

Design tillage equipment and related electronic components; produce detailed drawings, bills of materials, and test plans; use CAD and FEA tools to analyze and optimize designs; evaluate field testing and recommend modifications; provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and supply to ensure correct fabrication and assembly; improve cost, quality, and performance while following safety regulations.

Lead and build the Manufacturing Engineering team to set up the Compact Track Loader production process at a new Salina facility. Implement and coach Kubota Production System (KPS), develop standard work, manage staffing and KPIs (Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost), participate in capacity planning, inspect equipment, and mentor engineers. Ensure OSHA compliance and collaborate with production to achieve production readiness and sustained operations.

Machine prototype and fixture parts to support product development. Set up and operate CNC and manual mills/lathes and boring mills, read engineering prints, collaborate with engineers and fixture builders, maintain safety and tooling, and perform rework and measuring to close tolerances.

Lead the Strategic Project Group to plan and deliver cross-functional engineering initiatives from concept through production. Manage projects, schedules, budgets, risk, and teams; drive cost reduction, product innovation, standardization, and supplier strategies; collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to implement design-to-cost and improve product performance.

Design and develop skid-steer and excavator attachments from concept through production. Manage prototyping, testing, validation, and design-for-manufacturability. Create detailed drawings, BOMs, and test plans. Collaborate with manufacturing, present designs to management, use analysis/FEA tools, and recommend production and quality improvements.

Lead and supervise the CE Attachment engineering team to design, develop, validate, and improve ground engaging and material handling attachments. Own product lifecycle using Stage Gate, review designs and calculations, drive innovation and cost optimization, ensure compliance and safety, manage multiple projects, and coordinate cross-functional teams including manufacturing and supply chain.

Lead global strategy for Kubota construction equipment attachments: define segment strategy, guide product portfolio and pricing, manage product managers, gather customer/dealer/competitive insight, lead Stage Gate new-product development, support dealer training and go-to-market, and travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%).

Design, install, configure, secure, monitor, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors/ISPs, implement firmware/patching, support network monitoring, troubleshoot connectivity/performance issues, document configurations and incidents, and assist cybersecurity teams with vulnerability remediation and network security controls. On-site role with occasional travel and after-hours support.

Drive supplier quality improvements for purchased components through supplier audits, PPAP leadership, data analysis, scorecards, FMEA participation, NPI support, advanced problem solving, and supplier relationship management. Requires travel to vendors and close cross-functional collaboration with purchasing, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing.

Full-time on-site summer internship (mid-May to early-August) at Great Plains Manufacturing. Interns complete a mentored project, participate in team activities, and gain hands-on experience across engineering, IT, finance, supply chain, sales, and manufacturing functions. Housing provided if needed.

Design agricultural implements from concept through production, including CAD modeling, prototyping, FEA analysis, testing, DFMA, and creating detailed drawings and BOMs. Support manufacturing, present designs to management, recommend production improvements, and follow safety regulations. Travel out of state for development/testing as needed.
