Performs pre-certification laboratory testing by loading samples onto LC/MS/MS equipment, reviewing confirmation data, maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation, and documenting chain-of-custody requirements. Supports assay integrity, productivity, turnaround-time goals, quality standards, and fluctuating laboratory workloads. Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors to resolve daily issues and assist with new technology.

Perform loading and initial review of drug confirmation samples on LC/MS/MS, carry out daily maintenance and minor troubleshooting, follow chain-of-custody and CLIA/CAP procedures, progress through staged training to certify and release final results, and support productivity, assay integrity feedback, and R&D assistance in a high-volume clinical lab.

Lead day-to-day laboratory operations, staffing, performance management, and compliance (CLIA/CAP). Ensure equipment reliability, quality assurance, audits, method validation, inventory, and client support. Drive process improvements, reporting, budget assistance, and staff development to maintain consistent, high-quality service and minimal disruptions.

Serve as Laboratory Director for high-complexity clinical and forensic drug testing labs: ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, state), oversee QA/QC, personnel competency, instrumentation validation, R&D, toxicology interpretation, client consultation, and expert witness testimony. Lead quality improvement, accreditation, and implementation of new technologies.

Designs, develops, validates, and optimizes drug-of-abuse assays for urine and oral fluid using EMIT immunoassay and LC-MS/MS. Performs extraction methods, validation studies, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, SOP authoring, and collaborates with QA and laboratory leadership to bring methods into compliant, production-ready use.
