Legal intern supporting the Office of Innovation through research, policy analysis, and drafting white papers, FAQs, compliance guides, and presentations. The role contributes to policy positions involving artificial intelligence, data privacy, digital assets, and banking regulations; maintains public and member-facing resources; assists committees and working groups; and supports cross-organizational strategy execution.

Supports fraud risk management by drafting policy materials, coordinating committee activities, developing operational tools, analyzing fraud-risk data and performance, and preparing professional communications. The internship requires strong writing, organization, policy knowledge, Excel familiarity, and teamwork. It is a full-time graduate-level position based in Washington, DC, with onsite work required at least two days per week.

Collects and analyzes financial statement data from banks and non-bank financial institutions, researches acquisition trends and business-model differences, and prepares summaries, charts, and briefing materials for policy analysis. The intern will use Excel and Python or R for data cleaning, statistical analysis, visualization, and basic financial modeling while supporting senior staff on banking and regulatory research.

Supports business development for the Partner Network by researching prospective partners, sponsors, exhibitors, industry events, competitors, and membership benefits. Assists with lead generation, outreach, sales support, customer engagement, partner communications, and customer service. The intern analyzes membership data, tracks industry trends, and provides insights to improve offerings and attract new organizations.

Research and assess cybersecurity risks from emerging technologies in financial services, including AI, quantum computing, and cloud computing. Support survey development and analysis, summarize findings, contribute to comment letters, congressional testimony, and articles, and update presentations. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of financial-sector regulations, and interest in cybersecurity and operational resilience.

Lead design, development, review, and maintenance of 130+ frontline compliance courses. Manage project plans, schedules, SMEs, and eLearning updates using Storyline, Rise, and LMS tools. Ensure regulatory accuracy, quality control, timely releases, and data-driven improvements while collaborating cross-functionally to mitigate compliance risk and improve operational efficiency.

Maintains accounts receivable records, applies payments, processes chargebacks, issues invoices, performs general ledger reconciliations, prepares journal entries, and supports financial reporting. Oversees VEBA financial operations, including reconciliations, financial statements, audit schedules, and accrual tracking. Responds to customer inquiries and supports collections while ensuring accurate, timely processing across accounting systems.
