Supervises the cytology and histology department; oversees processing of biopsies, surgical tissues, and fluids; performs microscopic examination of cytological specimens to detect cancer and other pathologic conditions; ensures accurate specimen processing and departmental oversight.

Design, implement, operate, monitor, configure, and maintain network and security systems. Install and troubleshoot network hardware and servers, manage network services, support infrastructure, monitor performance, manage security and user accounts, perform backups and restorations, collaborate with IT and third-party vendors, and participate in on-call rotation to ensure high-availability and optimal network performance.

Maintain a clean, safe operating room environment and assist with efficient turnover between cases. Perform decontamination and sterile processing of rigid and flexible endoscopes, transport contaminated instruments, and deliver surgical specimens to the laboratory.

Provide nursing care on a medical/surgical unit: assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care; coordinate with multidisciplinary team; educate patients and families. Graduate Nurses work under direct RN supervision and must obtain NY licensure within 12 months.

Dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies per departmental policies. Ensure safe, accurate dispensing in a hospital pharmacy setting. Maintain required New York State pharmacist licensure and apply prior hospital pharmacy experience to support patient care and medication safety.

Coordinate and oversee all state and federal grant funding, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing financial and programmatic reporting, tracking budget drawdowns, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits and stakeholder communications.

Prepare and process surgical pathology specimens: gross tissues, embed, microtome, stain (H&E, special stains, IHC), support frozen sections, operate tissue processors, maintain equipment and QC, and assist pathologist in diagnostic workflow.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team; coordinate services and provide patient/family education. Role focuses on maternal/newborn care and requires additional maternal/newborn education or experience (e.g., PCEP, NRP, infant S.T.A.B.L.E., annual fetal monitoring competency).

Provide per-diem on-call psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Department at Adirondack Medical Center. Shifts are typically one weekend per month with occasional weekday opportunities. Must hold a relevant master’s degree and be licensed or imminently eligible for licensure in New York State.

Provide direct patient care in an ICU: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care; collaborate with multidisciplinary team; coordinate services; educate patients and families; maintain required certifications and complete telemetry prerequisite.

Provide perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room (and Angio/Endoscopy as needed): assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; coordinate procedures and staff; educate patients/families; participate in on-call rotation and ensure safe, efficient peri-operative workflow.

Prepare and process tissue specimens for diagnostic pathology: gross tissues, embed, microtome, perform routine and special stains, support tissue processing, slide QC, equipment upkeep, reagent management, and frozen section workflow under supervision.

Supervise and coordinate patient care and services across the facility, serve as a resource and role model for staff, coordinate resources to ensure comprehensive 24/7 care, and apply clinical competence, leadership, communication, critical thinking, and decision-making within the organizational structure.

Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging per physician orders for patients of all ages and conditions; ensure image quality and accuracy, document findings, and follow established procedures and standards.

Operate radiographic imaging equipment to perform physician-prescribed imaging studies for all patient types, review images for quality and accuracy, and retake films as needed following established standards and procedures.

Provide postoperative nursing care in the PACU: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; diagnose and treat responses to health problems; coordinate services and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
