Provide criminal defense representation in court and at hearings, develop defense strategies, conduct legal research, negotiate with prosecutors, advise clients, and collaborate with firm attorneys, investigators, and experts.

The Staff Attorney will draft estate planning documents, assist in trust administration, entity formation, and probate activities, working closely with senior attorneys and clients.

Supervise and represent clients in affirmative immigration matters (family-based, naturalization, asylum, U/T visas, VAWA, SIJS, etc.). Oversee paralegals, junior attorneys, volunteers; manage DOJ Accreditation and volunteer program; conduct intakes, court and USCIS appearances, and provide culturally competent services to low-income clients in a hybrid San Francisco office.

Provide remote calendaring and docketing support for litigation and non-litigation matters using BEC Docket Enterprise. Research court rules, create and quality-check calendar entries and reports, attach relevant documents, communicate with attorneys/paralegals, train staff on docketing systems, and ensure compliance with firm calendaring policies to avoid missed deadlines.

Perform detailed quality control reviews of litigation materials, verifying facts, citations, data, and exhibits. Proofread and edit for grammar, clarity, formatting, and consistent voice across multi-author documents. Validate sources and calculations, document discrepancies, and collaborate with attorneys, experts, and project teams to resolve issues and improve QC processes.

Manage personal injury caseloads from intake to closing: interact with clients, order medical records, coordinate with providers and insurers, prepare demands, negotiate settlements and medical balances, maintain organized files, and support attorneys.

Independently manage complex litigation matters from discovery through trial: develop compelling case themes, handle court appearances, depositions, briefs and trials, communicate with and cultivate client relationships, lead and mentor junior attorneys, and manage full case-handling responsibilities.

Join a product liability litigation team handling depositions, client engagement, expert collaboration, discovery management, and drafting and arguing motions. Provide substantive responsibility throughout litigation, including trial preparation and execution.
