The Backend Engineer will develop infrastructure for product integration, create documentation for team training, and influence technology decisions.

Lead design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of mobile and web software. Build APIs and web applications, author documentation, create prototypes, perform code reviews, collaborate with designers and QA, support releases and post-release maintenance, mentor peers, and provide technical input for project estimates and sales.

Lead development of the production toolchain that compiles complex Python packages (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch). Design, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems for interactive information experiences. Lead application architecture, code quality, performance, and reliability; integrate generative AI and prototype XR interfaces; collaborate with designers and data scientists; ensure security, accessibility, scalability, and document technical standards.

Build, test, and maintain scalable full‑stack applications. Work across front-end (React, HTML/CSS/JS) and back-end (Python or C#) services, collaborate on feature design and deployment, and optimize performance, security, and maintainability.

Design and deliver customer-specific solutions on the Digimarc Illuminate platform: configure accounts, build integrations and web add-ons (Node/JavaScript), script data imports/exports, create demos/POCs, provide 2nd/3rd-level support, and collaborate with product, engineering, and customers to ensure successful deployments.
