Own and improve Hex’s cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, databases, security, cost management, and single-tenant deployment systems. Responsibilities include developing React and TypeScript interfaces, backend language parsers, SQL generation, AI context systems, semantic models, agent audit tools, and workflows for governing and debugging AI-generated answers. The role requires solving front-end UX and backend scalability challenges while working with data teams and modern data warehouse technologies.

Build and ship full-stack product features for Hex’s AI-powered data platform using React, TypeScript, and/or Python. Collaborate with designers, product managers, and AI engineers on agentic capabilities, data exploration, collaborative editing, debugging, performance, UX, and API design. Participate in the complete development lifecycle from ideation through launch while learning from experienced engineers.

Design and evolve shared backend infrastructure, including APIs, realtime transport, storage frameworks, background job systems, workflow orchestration, and internal tooling. Improve reliability, performance, observability, and security while partnering with product teams on reusable abstractions. Lead technical design discussions, drive migrations and refactors, mentor engineers, and help establish backend architecture and engineering standards.

Build backend-leaning product features for Hex’s AI analytics platform, including APIs, CLI workflows, MCP integrations, access-control systems, enterprise administration, and full-stack product changes. Design scalable systems, implement complex business logic, collaborate through RFCs and code reviews, and contribute across the application stack. The role uses TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, Kubernetes, AWS, and related infrastructure technologies.

Lead Hex’s context platform engineering team, driving technical strategy, design reviews, hands-on development, people management, and talent recruitment. The role focuses on AI agent behavior, context systems, data-intensive products, and SaaS platforms. The Engineering Lead will establish technical standards, develop engineers, build high-performing teams, and guide the platform’s strategy and execution.
