Hands-on 12-month internship in a mechanical testing laboratory supporting sample preparation and physical-mechanical testing of consumer products (toys, childcare articles, furniture). Assist with laboratory test setup, operation, and maintenance; execute product and material tests per procedures; record, organize, and analyze test data; assemble/disassemble items for evaluation; read technical drawings under guidance; report findings to engineers; operate lab instruments and computer systems; follow UL Code of Conduct and lab security; support continuous improvement.

Manage MV/HV cable testing projects end-to-end: define scope, schedule, subcontractors; perform high-voltage tests and measurements; analyze data; prepare technical reports; communicate with clients; develop special test methods and train junior engineers. Frequent global travel required.

Set up and prepare the SAR lab, review test plans, perform SAR testing on wireless devices, analyze results and assist engineers with test reports, maintain accreditation and equipment records, update work tracking systems, and meet customer delivery requirements.

Perform conformity assessments and testing coordination for appliance, HVAC, and lighting products against safety standards (UL, IEC, EN, domestic standards). Verify customer specifications, confirm compliance, prepare reports, manage related projects, and liaise with clients, sales, test engineers, and overseas offices. Responsibilities and product focus may be adjusted based on experience.

Manage and execute laboratory test programs: define project scope, coordinate technicians, review samples against UL standards, communicate results with clients, develop test methods/equipment, support continuous improvement, resolve engineering issues, and represent UL at industry events.

Perform structural FEA using commercial CAE tools to evaluate static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue behavior. Build models, apply materials/boundary conditions, run simulations (including explicit dynamics), validate with hand calculations and test correlation, support root-cause failure analysis, and produce technical reports while collaborating with design, test, and manufacturing teams.

Manage HazLoc customer projects: define scope and test programs, coordinate lab activities, communicate with clients, prepare technical reports, and witness or conduct site tests (10-15% travel). Apply conformity standards such as IEC/EN 60079.

Perform CFD-based fire and explosion simulations (FLACS, FDS) for ESS/BESS scenarios, analyze thermal, overpressure, and gas dispersion outputs, support performance-based safety design and V&V, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while developing expertise under senior guidance.

Ensure reliability and metrological consistency of laboratory instruments and systems by developing and maintaining instrumentation and automated test systems, supporting installation/validation, planning and overseeing calibration activities, authoring technical documentation, managing lab projects and suppliers, driving continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), and providing technical support, training, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure compliance and standardization.
