The Vice President of Accounting and Controller oversees all accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, revenue recognition, financial close, reporting, audits, tax filings, and internal controls. The role leads the accounting team, resolves complex accounting issues, develops policies and procedures, supports budgeting and forecasting, contributes to board presentations, and provides financial insights to cross-functional leadership. The position is based in-office in Denver and reports to the CFO.

Owns inbound and outbound cross-sell opportunities within Lawmatics’ existing customer base of law firms. Responsibilities include running daily product demos, managing the full sales cycle, generating expansion pipeline, closing upsell opportunities, maintaining CRM accuracy, forecasting MRR, partnering with Account Management and Customer Success, and sharing customer and competitive insights with product and go-to-market teams.

Oversee recruiting and people operations across two agencies. Manage full-cycle recruiting, passive candidate sourcing, hiring processes, ATS reporting, multi-state compliance, policy and handbook development, leave and accommodation administration, onboarding, offboarding, employee records, performance cycles, engagement surveys, and DEI initiatives. Partner with leaders and hiring managers while improving HR processes, supporting organizational change, and ensuring equitable, compliant employee experiences.

Manages dealership finance and insurance operations, including loan and lease processing, lender relationships, credit applications, regulatory paperwork, insurance products, service contracts, fee collection, reporting, and finance penetration. Trains sales staff, coordinates with sales managers, ensures accurate documentation and compliance, supports customer satisfaction, and supervises backup coverage.

Serve as the primary HR partner for Northern California clinics, supporting employee relations, workplace investigations, manager coaching, policy interpretation, compliance, workers’ compensation, onboarding, engagement, and multi-site HR initiatives. The role requires building relationships across locations, maintaining California employment-law knowledge, escalating sensitive concerns appropriately, and traveling regularly to clinics while following a hybrid schedule based near Walnut Creek or Sacramento.

Leads Growth Operations and the marketing operating system, including S&OP forecasting, demand modeling, high-volume multichannel campaign execution, vendor and marketing infrastructure management, workflow standardization, campaign quality, and cost optimization. Directly manages the Growth Operations team and partners with Finance, Analytics, Client Growth, Content, and Lifecycle leaders to scale member acquisition.

Support clients with Ellucian Colleague ERP implementation, configuration, integration, migration, system administration, troubleshooting, and technical support. Consult with clients to understand requirements, recommend solutions, manage project deliverables, and align systems with business processes. The role may focus on Colleague programming using Envision and UniBasic or system administration and integration, with opportunities to develop skills in modern web technologies, APIs, cloud platforms, and SaaS solutions.

Own go-to-market for Upbound’s AI inference portfolio, including positioning, messaging, competitive strategy, launches, enterprise buyer research, sales enablement, pricing input, and open-source-to-commercial narratives. The role requires customer-facing thought leadership through analyst briefings, executive preparation, public speaking, podcasts, and community engagement. Success requires deep B2B infrastructure product marketing experience, technical fluency, open-core experience, and the ability to launch emerging products rapidly.

Build and operate large-scale data pipelines, web-scraping systems, and data-collection tools for AI datasets. Maintain analytical databases, optimize queries, troubleshoot pipeline and data-quality issues, manage containerized workloads across Kubernetes and Linux infrastructure, and support CI/CD workflows. The role also involves documenting technical processes, researching improvements, and developing scalable APIs in a fully remote environment.

Supports recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, professional development, workforce planning, personnel records, employee relations, and retention initiatives. Partners with department leaders and serves as an ambassador for the organization’s mission, values, and culture while helping create a positive employee experience.
