JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manage and oversee the full Workshop division for Port Moresby operations — including daily workshop operations, staff management, quality control, inventory, machinery maintenance, health & safety compliance, and reporting to senior management. The role drives operational excellence, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all workshop functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day-to-day management of workshop staff and operations
- Oversee production, fabrication, and installation support activities
- Manage stock control, purchasing of materials and equipment
- Maintain all workshop machinery, equipment, tools and PPE
- Lead health & safety compliance and conduct regular inspections
- Prepare periodic workshop reports and track project costs
- Liaise with Procurement, ACP Teams and Site Managers
- Undertake performance appraisals and manage HR activities
- Authorize purchase orders and creditor invoices
Requirements
- Minimum Year 10 qualification (Sheet Metal trade background preferred)
- 10+ years related experience in workshop or operations management
- Experience in medium to large scale organisations
- Advanced computer literacy — MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
- Strong leadership, communication and time management skills
- Current Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Valid Police Clearance
- Medical Certificate of fitness
- Ability to work weekends and after hours when required
- Ability to travel to branch and project locations
