Job Purpose:
The Web Rolltender is responsible for changing rolls and hanging plates. The Web Rolltender also assists operators with various tasks to facilitate the printing process.
Duties:
- Accurately print job tickets, gather necessary equipment, and report paper usage.
- Set up paper, plates, rollers, and guides efficiently and safely.
- Operate and adjust press stackers.
- Web up the press.
- Repair damaged rolls and ensure correct ink supply, maintaining fountain solution chemicals.
- Perform folding, trimming, and quality checks.
- Stack and organize finished products.
- Maintain a clean work environment, cleaning ink fountains and rollers as required.
- Assist operators as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, job tickets, safety rules, and ship reports accurately.
- Ability to write basic correspondence through email or on paper to fellow employees and supervisors.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, use a ruler and calculator, and count.
- Effective verbal communication.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- All applicants must have: Mechanical aptitude, able to follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrate, excellent attention to detail and complete minor equipment repairs.
