Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Web Developer will work closely with internal customers to create and maintain functional dynamic web applications that satisfy the specs outlined, working closely with the user to tailor each page utilizing the outlined languages and software. The incumbent will be involved in the full life cycle of the application from design, coding, maintenance, troubleshooting as well as additional future site sections and functions.


The on-site Web Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end development, testing, and maintenance of custom websites. Utilizing Microsoft .NET tools, .NET Core, and MSSQL, the successful candidate will support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), optimize website performance, and collaborate across departments to drive technical efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Web & Database Development:
    • Develop, configure, and support custom websites using Microsoft .NET, .NET Core, and MSSQL.
    • Design robust databases and website schemas.
  • Full SDLC Participation:
    • Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including architectural specification, design, programming, quality assurance, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Performance Optimization & Support:
    • Analyze website performance, identify and correct deficiencies, and resolve Tier 3 technical support issues.
  • Collaboration & System Analysis:
    • Partner with co-workers, management, and other departments to employ advanced analysis and design techniques (including case analysis and object modeling).
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement:
    • Research and recommend emerging software development technologies and methodologies.
    • Develop and implement new business processes to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform other appropriate, related duties as assigned.

This position will become eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work, after a waiting period of approximately 3-6 months subject to satisfactory job performance, management approval and operational needs.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and three years of experience in website design, development, and maintenance; OR an Associates degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in full-stack development utilizing C#, VB.NET, JavaScript,  HTML5, and CSS. Extensive experience working with .NET Core, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Razor, ADO.NET, jQuery, Vue.js, Angular, and AJAX. Strong understanding of MVC and client-server architectural patterns, with hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, and ActiveReports.


Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.


Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.


The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.

Work Location Expectations

At HRI, the nature of hybrid and onsite work varies by position. Some roles require full onsite presence, while others allow a hybrid schedule. Managers determine the specific telecommuting expectations for each role based on operational needs and job responsibilities. If designated as hybrid, you will divide your time between working remotely and reporting onsite. Regardless of telecommuting status, all HRI employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their official work location and must reside in one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Vermont.
