What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented VP, Lending to support our marketplace lending and credit card origination business / oversight of our fintech lending program partners. This role requires significant prior loan underwriting and approval experience, strong technical and credit‑risk capabilities, knowledge of different credit lending products including digital assets, familiarity with lending models and underwriting policies, and experience working within fintech or financial services environments. The VP, Lending will assist in partner reviews and analytics, due diligence efforts of new partners and customers, and cross‑functional initiatives aimed at strengthening our lending and onboarding operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketplace Lending & Credit Card Origination
    • review, manage and approve consumer loan and credit card product offerings, associated underwriting guidelines and exception requests
    • supervise and oversee consumer loan and credit card product lifecycle from end-to-end (from application to extension of credit and disbursal of funds)
    • help to support the Bank’s relationships with its consumer loan and credit card Fintech partners and loan services, as needed
  • Lending Strategy & Partner Analytics
    • assist in developing and enhancing lending products in collaboration with cross‑functional teams
    • support credit product specific risk research and establish product specific credit risk mitigants
    • stay current on emerging credit products, lending technologies, risk modeling advancements, fraud trends, and FinTech market developments to inform strategic direction
    • support execution of lending strategies aligned with business objectives, bank risk appetite and regulatory expectations
    • support analyzing consumer lending portfolio performance, including trends in originations, losses, and profitability
    • support building, maintaining, and interpreting dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking to monitor portfolio health
  • Credit Risk & Model Support
    • support model governance initiatives and compliance requirements (e.g., SR 11‑7, CECL)
    • assist in enhancing risk-based model oversight activities, monitoring, reports, and documentation
    • contribute to updates and refinements of underwriting policies and credit strategies
  • Financial & Credit Due Diligence
    • assist in developing and maintaining frameworks that score, rank, and prioritize potential partners based on revenue opportunity, risk exposure, operational readiness, and strategic alignment
    • assist in evaluating fintech partners, origination platforms, and embedded finance opportunities.
    • prepare due diligence summaries, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior leadership.
    • conduct due diligence for prospective partners, customers, and lending programs, and assess the product design and data integrity
    • assist with analyzing financial statements, bank statements, and cash‑flow data
  • Fintech Ecosystem & Innovation
    • support initiatives aimed at automation, process improvement, use of alternative data, and improve use of internal data
    • collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen operational and customer experience outcomes
  • Risk Management & Compliance
    • support ongoing regulatory compliance efforts, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, AML/KYC, and state licensing requirements
    • participate in audits, regulatory examinations, and risk assessments as required
    • help maintain robust risk management frameworks across lending operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in consumer lending, credit risk, financial analysis, or fintech‑related analytics roles
  • Strong knowledge of consumer credit products, digital lending platforms, and emerging technologies
  • Proven experience working with consumer loan and credit card originations and underwriting / credit models (development, validation, implementation, and monitoring) and with regulatory oversight of the models
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with expertise in Excel, SQL, Python, or other analytical tools
  • Proficiency in credit risk analytics, statistical modeling, and strong understanding of lending regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with risk management practices and lending regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or financial services preferred

Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $220,000.00
