Lead People Experience Designer, Assurant, GCC-India
This role is responsible for elevating the People Organization bring its stories to life through compelling, data-driven, and narrative-led visuals. The Marketing Designer will translate workforce data, talent insights, employee experiences, and strategic initiatives into clear, engaging visual stories that resonate with leaders, employees, and external audiences.
The role requires strong visual storytelling and data visualization capabilities, with the ability to elevate People-related content into board-ready presentations, thought leadership assets, social storytelling, and video. The goal is not just to design—but to make People strategies, outcomes, and insights understandable, memorable, and impactful.
This position will be in Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
People Storytelling & Strategic Design — 30%
- Partner closely with PO leaders, People Analytics, TA, and Communications to translate People strategies, workforce insights, and narratives into compelling visual stories.
- Help shape how People initiatives are communicated—using visual frameworks, storyboards, and narrative design to tell a cohesive story, not just present data.
- Advise stakeholders on how to visually communicate complex topics such as:
- Workforce trends and risks
- Talent strategy and transformation
- Employee experience and engagement
- Ensure all materials are clear, executive-ready, and aligned to Assurant’s People and enterprise brand.
Graphic Design and Motion Graphics — 85%
- This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to bring concepts to life through various design mediums.
- Generates design for print and digital applications using the Adobe Creative Suite software—Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects—and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong data visualization skills. Experience in creating custom graphics and illustrations and translating complex information into clear, concise, and visually engaging digital assets. Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of the products and their marketing contexts.
- Self-motivated, creative, and resourceful with the ability to multi-task.
- Experience in preparing static design concepts and storyboards from design or project briefs.
- Strong eye for design, and excellent communication skills.
- Possesses the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
- Develops effective and brand-compliant collateral that supports the marketing strategy.
- Uses project management software to organize projects, provide reviews, revisions and secure approvals.
- Ensures that the design work is of high quality and that all directives are being followed.
- Collaborate with Creative Director, Manager and internal stakeholders. Taking direction and implementing changes to improve design with consistent adherence to brand standards.
Visual Design, Data Visualization & Motion / Video — 70%
- Design high-impact visuals for:
- Create data visualizations, infographics, and custom illustrations that turn workforce data into intuitive, visually compelling narratives (inspired by best-in-class examples such as Visual Capitalist).
- Develop visual narratives that connect data, insights, and actions—helping leaders quickly understand “what matters and why.”
- Produce motion graphics and short-form video (where applicable) to bring People stories to life across digital and internal channels.
- Build storyboards, static concepts, and visual prototypes from early ideas or rough inputs.
- Execute work using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) and PowerPoint, with strong attention to visual polish and clarity.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, incorporating feedback efficiently while meeting deadlines.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 4+ years of previous experience as a Graphic Designer, Motion Designer or Presentation Designer, using creative industry.
- Strong portfolio showcasing your motion/animation design skills.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects).
- Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Visual story telling or visual story board.
