Position Summary:
The VP, Strategy & Corporate Development, serves as a senior advisor and execution leader supporting the Head of the Office of the CEO. This role will drive enterprise‑wide strategic initiatives, assess acquisitions and other strategic investment opportunities, ensure cross‑functional alignment of key group-wide priorities, and enhance the Head of Office of the CEO’s ability to operate at scale. The VP will lead initiatives and act as a strategic integrator, orchestrating information flow, governance routines, and decision‑support processes across the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and broader organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Drive end‑to‑end execution of high‑priority CEO‑level strategic initiatives, ensuring milestones, risks, and dependencies are actively managed.
Partner with the Head of the Office of the CEO to prioritize issues, synthesize insights, and prepare recommendations for CEO decision‑making.
Support preparation for GEM, ELT, and Board meetings; ensure materials are analytically strong, strategic, and actionable.
Corporate Development & Strategic Analysis
Support Head of Office of the CEO in evaluating acquisition/divestiture opportunities; oversee preparation of strategic analyses and executive materials.
Oversee analytical workstreams supporting strategic planning, competitive landscape assessments, and long-term corporate strategy development
Enterprise Alignment & Cross-Functional Orchestration
Coordinate with business and functional leaders to track follow‑up actions from CEO and Board; ensure accountability and timely completion.
Lead enterprise‑level governance routines including strategic planning cadences, quarterly business reviews, and CEO/ELT operating rhythms.
Executive Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Marketing and Communications and Investor Relations to align CEO messaging with corporate strategy.
Support creation of CEO briefing dossiers and stakeholder preparation materials for key CEO internal and external engagements.
Provide day‑to‑day leadership to Office of the CEO staff, fostering clarity, precision, agility, and cohesive team delivery.
What we are looking for:
Demonstrated success operating in a senior strategic, enterprise‑level role, ideally within consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate development, or a high‑performance advisory environment.
Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to translate ambiguity into clear frameworks, recommendations, and executive‑ready insights.
Advanced analytical acumen, with an understanding of valuation and insurance-related financials, the ability to oversee and challenge complex financial workstreams, synthesize input from multiple sources, and guide data‑driven decision‑making at the CEO/ELT level.
Team leadership and project management strengths, with experience in leading teams to define workstreams and deliver outcomes, working collaboratively across functional areas.
Deep understanding of the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry – including operating models, financial drivers, and competitive landscape – or proven ability to rapidly build domain expertise in a similarly complex sector.
Superior executive communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling narratives, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver CEO/Board‑quality materials with clarity and precision.
Highly effective cross‑functional operator with a track record of driving enterprise alignment, coordinating across senior leaders, and ensuring delivery against high‑stakes commitments.
Organized, disciplined, and deadline‑driven, with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous CEO‑level priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
Self‑directed, proactive, and intellectually curious, with strong judgment, high integrity, and the ability to anticipate needs before they surface.
Leadership presence with the ability to guide, mentor, and elevate team members while upholding a culture of excellence, agility, and accountability.
Preferred Profile
Experience in a top‑tier management consulting firm or investment bank.
Prior work within internal corporate strategy, corporate development, or enterprise transformation roles with a history of measurable impact.
