What you'll do:

As a Senior Business Analyst – Core Banking Transformation based in Malaysia, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of banking technology within the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve acting as a trusted advisor on core banking transformation projects—guiding teams through complex migrations while ensuring that business needs are met with precision. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including business units, technology teams, vendors, and regional offices to facilitate requirement gathering sessions and design reviews. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you assess current processes and operating models to identify improvement opportunities. You will also lead data migration activities by conducting thorough data analysis and mapping exercises. In addition to supporting conventional banking operations, you will contribute to Islamic Banking growth initiatives by participating in product assessments and system readiness activities. Integration analysis across multiple applications will form part of your remit as you help drive rationalisation efforts. Throughout project delivery cycles you will coordinate workshops, track deliverables, manage risks/issues, provide executive reporting updates—and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Success in this role requires a blend of technical acumen, interpersonal sensitivity, collaborative spirit—and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

 

  • Act as the subject matter expert for core banking transformation initiatives by providing guidance on future application regionalisation programmes and supporting implementation activities.
  • Support regional and Head Office teams in deploying T24 and related core banking systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms.
  • Analyse current business processes, operating models, and banking products to facilitate successful migration to new platforms while identifying areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate discussions between business units, regional teams, and external vendors to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and translated into actionable solution specifications.
  • Review functional specifications, business requirements documents, target operating models, and implementation strategies to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardisation and improvement as part of ongoing transformation initiatives within the bank.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on banking products, customer journeys, operational processes, and support Islamic Banking growth initiatives through solution assessment and product implementation.
  • Lead data discovery efforts including data analysis, source-to-target mapping activities for migration projects, data profiling, quality assessment, reconciliation analysis, and defining transformation rules.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to validate migration strategies, conversion approaches, reconciliation processes, system migration testing, data validation, and readiness activities.
  • Analyse system interfaces and integration requirements across application portfolios; review technical specifications such as API requirements and interface designs; support rationalisation and consolidation efforts.

  • Extensive experience in business analysis within the financial services sector with proven involvement in large-scale core banking transformation or migration projects.
  • Deep understanding of core banking systems (such as T24) including their implementation methodologies and integration approaches across diverse platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills enabling you to assess existing business processes, operating models, product requirements—and translate them into actionable solution specifications.
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions between business units, technology teams (regional/Head Office), vendors—and translate complex requirements into clear deliverables.
  • Experience reviewing functional specifications documents (FSDs), target operating models (TOMs), implementation strategies—and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Expertise in identifying process improvement opportunities through standardisation initiatives within transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of conventional banking products as well as Islamic Banking solutions—including customer journeys/operational processes/product implementation/system readiness activities.
  • Proven track record leading data discovery/data analysis/source-to-target mapping/data profiling/data quality assessment/reconciliation/migration rule definition/testing/validation/readiness activities.
  • Technical proficiency analysing system interfaces/integration requirements/data flows/application portfolios/API/interface design/integration architecture/rationalisation/consolidation/migration impacts/dependencies.
