Key duties & responsibilities
- Work with the Casualty Reinsurance team to provide pricing and deal-analysis support, including pricing-model development and individual case pricing support in line with best-practice actuarial techniques.
- Provide support for account performance monitoring, managing the tracking of cash / premium flows, claims and other relevant data.
- Production and update of policies, technical procedures and methodology documents owned by the actuarial function appropriate to models created and maintained.
- Lead regular and annual validation of models, including ongoing testing, and validation of model changes and appropriateness of techniques and parameters.
- Provide actuarial support to the wider objectives of the underwriting teams including input on reserving and capital modelling as required.
- Provide actuarial support for other Ascot Group areas as required
Minimum qualifications, skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or another relevant numerate subject.
- ACAS, FCAS, ASA, FSA, AIA or FIA, or equivalent actuarial designation.
- Minimum of 5 years of actuarial pricing experience within re/insurance, with significant experience and understanding of model development and validation within Casualty Reinsurance.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA programming and Power BI.
- Comfort with databases and proficiency in SQL.
- Proven organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
