TITLE: Vice President, Data Scientist
LOCATION: New York, NY (A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with company policies.)
DUTIES: Evaluate and analyze structured and unstructured data sets and research data-driven solutions and insights. Collaborate with research and investment teams to identify data science use cases and integrate new data sources into fundamental research and investment theses densification. Iterate independently to formulate research problems, and develop, evaluate, and compare innovative modeling techniques. Perform feature engineering, feature selection, data processing and develop data science process prototypes. Summarize and communicate insights and relevance of data analysis clearly and succinctly to bring data into actionable insights. Work with engineering team to deploy models, construct big data analytic pipelines and develop scalable data science capabilities. Provide support to other data science initiatives to scale the firm’s analytics capabilities across business units.
REQTS: Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with all of the following: Utilizing advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to analyze large structured and unstructured datasets; Developing data-driven alpha signals for global equity and/or thematic investing strategies through comprehensive research; Researching advanced quantitative methodologies to portfolio management, including portfolio analytics, portfolio optimization, and risk assessment; Working with text modeling, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning and/or large language models; Applying data science in equity research and the financial industry in both U.S. and emerging markets, focusing on data-driven investment research or commercial opportunities; Leveraging alternative data sources, including transaction data, web traffic and job postings, in quantitative or quantamental equity research; Communicating complex analytical insights to stakeholders, including portfolio managers, research analysts, and other investment professionals; Using Data Science languages including Python and large-scale data analytics tools; Cleaning, aggregating, and pre-processing data from various sources; Using SQL and/or Snowflake; and Using cloud providers including AWS and Azure.
HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (40 hrs/week)
SALARY: $141,170 - $200,000 per year

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $141,170-$200,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
