About the role:
Are you a technically minded engineer with a passion for solving complex network challenges and delivering exceptional customer experiences? AppLogic Networks is looking for a VAS Engineer - Signature to join our Global Services team and play a critical role in supporting our key accounts.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of daily protocol development activities, working in a high-availability production environment where your attention to detail and investigative mindset will make a real difference. You'll monitor, identify, and drive resolution of potential issues — acting as a trusted liaison between our customers and AppLogic Networks' internal teams, including Customer Support, Product Management, and Global Professional Services.
What you will do:
- Monitor & Test — Perform daily monitoring and testing of critical applications, system health, logs, and alarms with a strong sense of urgency when issues arise
- Analyze & Troubleshoot — Investigate critical application traffic and detect problems using tools such as traffic sniffers, simulators, MRTG, PRTG, SNMP polling, and log analysis
- Identify & Develop — Work on deployed solutions to identify grey critical apps/protocol traffic and design new solutions for monitoring and detection
- Collaborate & Lead — Lead discussions and analysis with cross-functional departments to solve and prevent issues before they impact customers
- Enable Customers — Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to customers, empowering them to better understand and leverage AppLogic Networks solutions
- Communicate & Escalate — Serve as the primary liaison between customer operations and AppLogic Networks' Customer Support, Account Management, and engineering teams — managing escalations, status updates, and resolution timelines
- Hands-On Support — Work directly with equipment and tools as needed, supporting team members across a cross-functional environment
What you bring:
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related discipline
- Experience: 5+ years related experience
Technical Skills
- Strong command of Unix-based operating systems (Linux, FreeBSD, etc.)
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (Java, C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.)
- Hands-on expertise with packet-level debugging tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, tcpreplay, or similar)
- Solid understanding of web application concepts including P2P, VoIP, WAP, MMS, and RTSP
- Deep knowledge of networking and IP-related technologies
- Experience in Quality Assurance testing
- Strong background in VoIP, IPTV, and video streaming protocols and architecture
- Thorough understanding of end-to-end network call flows and relevant protocols (DHCP, RADIUS, DIAMETER, GRE, SIP, RTP, MGCP, H.323, RTCP)

- Experience with network hardware installation and configuration (Cisco, Juniper, or similar)
- Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, HTTP)
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and OpenStack deployment
- Understanding of NFV, particularly MANO/ONAMP frameworks
- Experience with billing and charging concepts, including OCS, PCRF, and PCEF
- Familiarity with industry frameworks such as Scrum or ITIL
- Experience with data modelling, DB administration, SQL/PostgreSQL, ETL, and/or BI
- Background in wireline (Cable, DSL, FTTH) and/or wireless networks (LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, UMTS, GPRS)
- Experience with SQL databases, network traffic monitoring, or firewall technologies in a Telecom, ISP, or Cable Internet environment
- Mandarin language proficiency highly desirable
