About the Job
We invite expressions of interest from experienced insurance accounting professionals with expertise in financial and regulatory reporting and period-end close activities within insurance or reinsurance environments.
The role would support accurate reporting under IFRS, provide technical accounting expertise and partner with Finance, Actuarial, Risk and Business teams. Experience with Bermuda insurance or reinsurance reporting will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities:
- Manage period-end close activities, including accounting entries and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 compliance across statutory, management and regulatory reporting.
- Support Bermuda regulatory reporting, including the BMA’s Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) and BSCR frameworks.
- Apply appropriate accounting treatments for proportional and non-proportional reinsurance treaties.
- Analyze key balance-sheet and P&L movements and review accounting treatments for policy and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Risk and Business teams and support internal and external audits.
- Strengthen accounting processes, controls and reporting automation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CA, CPA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven insurance accounting experience within insurance, reinsurance or financial services.
- Strong IFRS knowledge, including hands-on IFRS 17 experience and working knowledge of IFRS 9.
- Bermuda/reinsurance reporting knowledge, including BMA EBS, BSCR and proportional/non-proportional treaty accounting.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical insurance accounting expertise with sound IFRS knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders in a fast-paced reporting environment.
