Keeping client information accurate over time is critical to strong risk management and a trusted client experience. In this role, you will focus on mid-cycle KYC work—periodic refreshes, event-driven updates, and ongoing due diligence—where precision and follow-through matter. You will partner closely with stakeholders to resolve gaps quickly and raise issues with clear, well-supported insight. We will support your growth through exposure to complex structures, varied client types, and continuous improvement initiatives.

As an Analyst within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Wholesale KYC Operations team, you own mid-cycle Know Your Customer (KYC) activities, including periodic reviews, event-driven reviews, and ongoing due diligence. You will validate client information, assess documentation quality, and drive remediation to keep records accurate, complete, and current throughout the client lifecycle. You will partner with business and operations stakeholders to resolve issues within agreed timelines while applying Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and KYC standards. This role is intentionally mid-cycle heavy and is not primarily focused on full onboarding execution.

You will join a team that prioritizes quality, clear communication, and strong controls while balancing delivery timelines. The work is investigative and detail-oriented, with opportunities to improve processes that reduce rework and strengthen data quality. You will collaborate across functions and regions to align on requirements and close gaps efficiently.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end case management for periodic reviews, event-driven reviews, and mid-cycle refreshes from initiation through closure
  • Partner with stakeholders to request, track, and obtain required documents, attestations, and approvals for mid-cycle review completion
  • Review KYC documentation for completeness, consistency, and validity against AML and KYC requirements and defined service-level expectations
  • Validate and update client data in KYC systems to ensure the profile, nature of business, risk factors, and ownership details are accurate and supported
  • Perform ongoing due diligence research using approved internal tools and reputable public sources to confirm client information and identify potential issues
  • Analyze ownership and control structures and obtain appropriate evidence to support beneficial ownership and controlling person requirements
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues and communicate clear, actionable remediation requirements to stakeholders
  • Track remediation progress, document actions taken, and ensure outcomes meet quality and control standards
  • Escalate aging items, blockers, and potential risk concerns with clear context, supporting facts, and recommended next steps
  • Support targeted remediation initiatives (for example, policy-driven refreshes and data-quality cleanups) to improve record accuracy and reduce repeat defects
  • Recommend process improvements that streamline mid-cycle review execution, strengthen controls, and improve stakeholder experience

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 1 year of experience in AML/KYC, compliance, operations, risk, controls, audit, or research
  • Working knowledge of AML and KYC concepts, including periodic reviews, event-driven updates, and ongoing due diligence
  • Experience reviewing documentation and validating data quality against defined requirements and timelines
  • Ability to analyze ownership information and explain conclusions clearly using evidence-based reasoning
  • Familiarity with screening considerations such as politically exposed person (PEP) and adverse media risk indicators
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent controls mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate gaps into clear remediation actions
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including managing multiple cases with competing deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups and drive items to closure
  • Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience primarily focused on mid-cycle KYC work (periodic reviews, event-driven reviews, remediation, and refresh programs)
  • Experience handling complex ownership and multi-jurisdiction documentation sets
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, quality initiatives, or controls enhancements
  • Language skills in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean (written and spoken) to support APAC stakeholder
