Under frequent supervision, gain a broad understanding of the RLI business through real-world underwriting experience and on-the-job training.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
· Collaborate and work closely with underwriters and management to support the underwriting operation.
· Analyze and interpret data from various systems and underwriting sources.
· Set-up submissions and prepare quotes for underwriters.
· Research and deliver investigative findings to underwriters and management.
· Complete project-based assignments as assigned.
· Participate in RLI Summer Internship program which is coordinated by our home office. All interns will have the opportunity to travel to our home office in Peoria, IL to network with interns from across the country and meet with and present to RLI leaders.
Education & Experience
Open to all majors. Strong preference toward candidates with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

· Ability to analyze and resolve basic issues utilizing critical thinking skills.
· Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with others.
· Demonstrates strong work ethic.
· Possesses relationship building skills.

- IT & Underwriting: $22/hour
- Legal: $25/hour
- Actuarial: $22-$28/hour*

- Typical intern hours are dependent on the time of year that an individual is working for RLI. 10-15 hours/week during the school year and 30+ hours/week during the summer.
