We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our Hong Kong office on a fixed-term contract. Supporting our Financial Lines and Casualty underwriting teams, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely operational support across the underwriting lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a fast-paced, collaborative insurance environment while contributing to the effective delivery of underwriting services and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a high level of accurate and timely operational support to the underwriting teams across Financial Lines and Casualty.
Review and enter new Underwriting submissions into the appropriate systems.
Process accurate entry of policy slip data into underwriting systems within agreed service level agreements, including the issuance of policy documents such as schedules, wordings, endorsements, invoices, and certificates of insurance.
Liaise with business partners to support premium closings, premium advice and premium reconciliations, ensuring premium bookings are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
Process policy endorsements and adjustments on internal underwriting systems within agreed service level agreements.
Review internal exception reports and take action to ensure risk and policy information is maintained accurately within underwriting systems.
Support the delivery of monthly, quarterly and year-end business timetables by meeting deadlines, communicating effectively with stakeholders and contributing to internal and external reporting requirements.
Maintain risk information and manage workflows within the document repository to ensure a complete, accurate and auditable record of underwriting activity.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are adhered to including company Standard Operating Procedures.
Adhere to any common standards set across the company and ensures that policies and procedures are adequately documented
Undertake continued Professional Development and comply with The Hartford procedures.
