Job Description

Anglo American are currently recruiting multiple Underground Operators within Development at Moranbah North Mine based in Moranbah, Queensland.

Reporting to the Development Superintendent, the primary purpose of the role is to complete all tasks safely and efficiently, to assist Moranbah North in achieving its goal of zero harm, whilst maximising production output and minimizing production costs.

Key responsibilities will include, not limited to:

  • Safely and efficiently operate a variety of underground mining equipment
  • Maintaining a safe and productive mining environment
  • Applying statutory obligations as required
  • Operation of equipment to consistently deliver specified hourly targets
  • Work proactively with on-shift peers to ensure a high level of safety & productivity to agreed standards & responsibilities
  • Assist with maintenance activities as required
  • Actively ensure all personal authorisations and competencies are maintained
  • Uniformly applying Anglo American standards and procedures i.e. the mine Safety & Health Management System & Anglo Golden Rules.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience working within the underground coal mining industry with demonstrated understanding of the coal mining process and the relevant mining legislation.

Relevant skills, knowledge and experience required for this role include:

  • At least 2 years' underground coal mining operational experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of underground coal mining processes and machinery.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets.
  • A professional work ethic and the ability to strive for continuous improvement.
