Job Summary:CF Industries is seeking a highly motivated Turnaround Engineering Intern to support planning, readiness, execution, and continuous improvement activities associated with a major plant turnaround (TAR). The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, process safety, and capital project activities within a manufacturing environment.Job Description:Turnaround Planning & Readiness- Assist engineering and operations teams with development and tracking of turnaround work scopes.
- Perform field verification of work packages, equipment tags, drawings, and P&IDs.
- Participate in readiness reviews, walkdowns, and planning meetings.
- Support MOC job package reviews and readiness activities.
- Assist with contractor logistics, procurement tracking, and site preparation.
- Support development or modification of nitrogen purge and leak testing procedures.
- Assist with vent-to-flare emissions calculations and contractor training activities.
- Exercise stop-work authority and identify EHS concerns requiring escalation.
- Provide field support during outage execution and monitor assigned scopes.
- Conduct visual inspections of heat exchangers, vessels, heaters, and towers.
- Track equipment closure and pre-commissioning documentation.
- Support daily turnaround KPI reporting and coordination meetings.
- Document field changes, lessons learned, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support turnaround-related capital and reliability projects.
- Track project schedules, scope, and status updates.
- Assist with equipment selection, vendor communication, installation verification, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Participate in PHA, MOC, and PSSR activities.
- Support mechanical integrity, inspection, and reliability initiatives.
- Assist in safety audits, field observations, and equipment performance assessments.

- Develop at least one turnaround report or dashboard.
- Assist with work package development and reviews.
- Participate in planning, execution, and lessons learned meetings.
- Deliver a final presentation summarizing contributions, safety observations, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment.
