We are currently seeking a Lead Instrument Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the mission we offer you:
- Assist the HOD in ensuring high-quality design outputs in accordance with the relevant procedures.
- Produce agreed deliverables in line with project requirements and schedules in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide man-hour and material cost estimates for proposals.
- Develop the skills of more junior personnel by providing on-the-job training and assessing their performance.
- Provide advice and review work within areas of expertise when required.
- Advise the HOD on the manpower and skill levels required to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assign work appropriately to the project team.
- Liaise with other departments, clients, and third parties as required by the project.
Take overall responsibility for the quality of work produced.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure timely approval of engineering and requisitioning documents from the client, as well as timely technical and economic definition of change orders and claims.
- Supervise and review specifications and calculations for detailed engineering as required.
- Contribute to the optimization of material quantities by proposing value engineering solutions.
- Ensure contractual technical specifications are met by vendors.
- Adhere to committed man-hours and budget.
- Ensure timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities to the Project.
- Meet the quality objectives of the project.
- Possess strong technical know-how and a good understanding of design codes and standards.
- Interface with other disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.
Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering staff.

About you:
- The candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia or an approved equivalent.
- The candidate must have at least 18 years of experience in instrument design engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a lead role is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the local board or an approved equivalent.
