Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Truss Designer II to join our team and support the creation of high‑quality structural component designs for residential and light commercial construction. In this role, you will produce accurate and timely bids, quotes, and production‑ready designs for roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and/or engineered wood products (EWP).
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, consistently delivers precise work, and collaborates effectively with sales, operations, and other internal teams to exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate, production‑ready designs for roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and EWP for single‑family, simple multifamily, and light commercial projects.
Prepare timely bids and quotes that reflect customer specifications and project requirements.
Independently complete design projects of moderate to advanced complexity (up to Level 4), requesting assistance only for Level 5 plans.
Partner closely with sales and operations teams to ensure successful project outcomes and high customer satisfaction.
Maintain strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency across all design deliverables.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of relevant design experience, preferably within component manufacturing or structural design.
Proven ability to independently manage assignments while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
Strong understanding of truss and panel design principles, building materials, and construction methods.
Experience producing high‑quality customer‑focused design solutions.
Ability to mentor or support other designers as needed.
Recommendation or strong endorsement from a supervisor or manager is preferred.
