Are you passionate about languages? As a Translation Specialist, you will be providing high quality translations for a variety of internal customers. This includes receiving the translation requests through a ticketing system, handling the project assets and preparing them for translation, machine translation post-editing, and finally, proofreading and reconstructing the asset files in the target language. With a wide range of assets in scope there is a strong need for continuous learning and adaptation.

This position is a B4 level
 

What will you be doing?

  • Performing translation, post-editing and proofreading of several content types, including medical, training, legal, research, technical, scientific, educational, and commercial materials.

  • Familiarizing oneself with company products and published materials, including research into terminology specific to the medical industry.

  • Demonstrating and expanding provided glossaries and translation memories to ensure consistency and high quality of service.

  • Collaborating with Translation Team colleagues sharing knowledge, proposing solutions, and supporting one another.

  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to satisfy translation requirements and provide revisions.

  • Leading and juggling conflicting priorities to ensure continuous delivery of translated content in a timely manner.

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

  • University degree in linguistic / translation studies, or similar.

Experience:

  • 2 years professional experience as a translator, post-editor or similar position.

  • Experience in the medical industry related to the corporate environment is beneficial.

  • Experience using CAT and translation management tools (especially Bureau Works) or similar translation post-editing tools, is beneficial, as well as experience with e-learning/training software.

Languages:

  • Strong Portuguese language skills (European variant) - C2 or native.

  • Strong English language skills - C1 or above.

  • Proficiency in a third language (B2) is a highly valued asset.

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite, especially Word, Power Point, Excel.

  • Knowledge of video and captions editing tools (Subtitle Edit) is beneficial.
