Role overview:

Kiva Capital Management (KCM) is Kiva's asset management subsidiary, managing impact-first investment vehicles that provide financing to financial institutions and social enterprises serving underserved communities globally. KCM combines rigorous investment practices with Kiva's mission of expanding financial access and economic opportunity around the world.

Kiva Capital Management is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transaction Closing Process Manager to support the execution of investment transactions across KCM's investment portfolios.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Investments, this role will serve as the central coordinator for investment closings, ensuring transactions move efficiently from approval through execution, funding, and documentation. The Transaction Management Associate will maintain transaction closing checklists, facilitate communication among internal and external stakeholders, track critical milestones and deliverables, and ensure all parties remain informed throughout the investment process.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and is passionate about creating clear, repeatable processes that support high-quality investment operations.

Key responsibilities include: 

Transaction Execution & Closing Management
  • Manage investment transactions following approval, overseeing closing, funding, and post-closing documentation and ensuring all milestones, approvals, conditions precedent, and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain transaction closing checklists and coordinate execution of loan agreements, amendments, waivers, and related legal documentation.
  • Monitor transaction progress, identify potential delays or risks, and proactively drive resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Ensure transaction records, executed documents, and closing materials are complete, accurate, and appropriately maintained.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
  • Serve as the central point of coordination among Investments, Legal, Finance, Risk, Investor Relations, external counsel, borrowers, and other transaction stakeholders.
  • Provide timely updates on transaction status, outstanding requirements, key decisions, and upcoming deadlines.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across parties to support efficient transaction execution and closing.

Process Management & Operational Excellence

  • Develop, document, and maintain transaction management processes, workflows, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize systems and tools such as Asana, Salesforce, Google Workspace, and other platforms to manage transaction workflows and ensure visibility across stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, transparency, consistency, and scalability across KCM's investment operations.
Reporting & Information Management
  • Maintain accurate transaction tracking and pipeline reporting for investment team leadership.
  • Support internal reporting and information requests related to transaction activity, portfolio operations, and investment processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 5 years of experience in transaction management, legal operations, investment operations, financial services, fund administration, project management, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with full professional fluency in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred:

  • Paralegal certification or experience supporting legal documentation, transaction closings, or due diligence processes.
  • Experience working with loan transactions, fund operations, legal teams, or external counsel.
  • Familiarity with Asana, Salesforce, or similar workflow and CRM platforms.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience in impact investing, private credit, microfinance, nonprofit finance, or emerging markets.
