Are you organized, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in broadcast media? FOX 13 Tampa Bay is seeking a Traffic Assistant to support the daily coordination and scheduling of commercial content for our station.
FOX 13 Tampa Bay is part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television Stations and delivers local news, weather, sports, and entertainment across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
This position is an opportunity to learn the traffic function, work closely with multiple departments, and support the accurate and timely execution of commercial schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
Commercial Logs: Assist with preparing, reviewing, and updating daily program logs to ensure accurate placement of commercial spots and other scheduled content.
Commercial Materials: Coordinate the receipt, downloading, labeling, and scheduling of commercial materials for upcoming and same-day broadcasts.
Inventory Support: Track available commercial inventory and provide accurate information to the Sales team.
Accuracy and Compliance: Review logs and related information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with FCC requirements and station standards.
Issue Resolution: Research and help resolve discrepancies involving schedules, commercial materials, orders, and log information.
Department Support: Assist with monthly commercial roster updates and provide backup support to other members of the Traffic department.
Cross-Department Coordination: Work Programming, Operations, Creative Services, and other departments to with Sales, support accurate commercial execution.
Traffic Systems: Use Wide Orbit and other systems to perform essential job functions.
What You’re Bringing
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or a degree is preferred. Prior broadcast, traffic, advertising, or administrative experience is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Communication: Professional and effective communication skills when working with station personnel, advertising agencies, and internal departments.
Technology: Ability to learn and use broadcast traffic systems and other computer applications. Experience with Wide Orbit is preferred.
Teamwork and Reliability: Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and willing to learn.
Availability: Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime as needed in support of a 24/7 broadcast operation.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $26.75-27.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
