Job Description

Are you passionate about financial markets, trading, and operational risk management? Do you have a knack for analysing and improving processes and a strong affinity for technology? Whether you are at an earlier stage of your career or an experienced professional from trading, operations, risk management, compliance, or audit, we are keen to learn more about the strengths you could bring to our team.

We are seeking a Business Risk Manager to strengthen risk management and governance across Trading & Treasury. As part of our Trading & Treasury team, you will work closely with all our Trading desks, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and other stakeholders across LGT’s international locations. Depending on your experience, you will either develop your expertise with the support of the team or take ownership of selected topics and strategic initiatives from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the Best Execution Monitoring framework and tools, turning execution-quality analysis into actionable insights for senior management.
  • Investigate Operational Risk Events in Trading and develop appropriate measures to address identified weaknesses in the internal control system.
  • Strengthen Trading & Treasury’s operational resilience by maintaining, testing and continuously enhancing Business Continuity Management capabilities.
  • Manage third-party risks for selected trading applications, including user access administration and ongoing service provider oversight.
  • Strengthen trading governance by maintaining directives that define clear responsibilities, manage conflicts of interest, and ensure appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects in collaboration with Trading, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and other key stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Curious and highly engaged, with the initiative to take ownership, challenge the status quo and deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and financial products.
  • Relevant experience in Trading, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or a related banking function.
  • Good understanding of trading-related regulation, operational risk and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex processes, identify risks and control gaps, and develop pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong digital and IT affinity, with the ability to translate business needs into process and system requirements.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex matters clearly to different audiences, including senior management.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of financial markets, risk management, regulation and technology. You will contribute to a diverse range of topics, collaborate with experts across LGT’s international locations, and make a tangible impact on the resilience and governance of Trading & Treasury.
