Job Description

This role strengthens the monitoring and reporting functions of the independent risk management function (‘second line of defence’). Its tasks include, in particular, the independent assessment of the methods and models relevant to credit risk. Key findings and risks are discussed with the credit department and reported to management.


Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Implementing and further developing data- and risk-based monitoring of the lending business at portfolio level, including the analysis and assessment of key credit risk drivers
  • Further developing quantitative valuation methods and stress tests in the area of credit risk
  • Preparing and further developing regular reports for the relevant committees, as well as promptly escalating significant risks
  • Independent and critical assessment, validation and ongoing monitoring of all credit risk-relevant methods and models, including the underlying assumptions and parameters
  • Constructive collaboration with the relevant specialist departments in the event of identified weaknesses, deviations or increased risks
  • Assumption of deputising duties

Requirements
  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in banking and finance, economics or a quantitative discipline, ideally supplemented by relevant experience in the banking sector
  • A strong aptitude for numbers, an interest in analytical problems and the structured interpretation of complex relationships, as well as knowledge of SQL or comparable data query and analysis languages, are desirable
  • Preferably experience in credit risk management or a comparable role within the banking sector
  • Ideally, experience in producing meaningful risk reports, risk analyses and recommendations for action
  • An independent and meticulous approach to work, as well as a high degree of reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good written and spoken German and English
